The year is 2006 and Ayana Dubois is a Midwest girl, now living the life of a queen or so it seems, in Charlotte, NC. She has big dreams of becoming an actress but her life is surrounded by being part of "The Game" with fast money, expensive things, fun, sex and plenty of drama. She's recently engaged to her off again-on again boyfriend, Benjimin Sykes who definitely keeps her on her toes with all of his extracurricular activities. Ayana tries to make sense of the life she has become so accustomed to with Benji but also longs for something more meaningful. Does she she find it in the strikingly handsome, Christian insurance salesman, Deleon Fernandez or is he too good to be true? Ayana struggles with the demons from her past and the peace and spirituality that she is trying to grab a hold of.
