Given the influence of digital technologies on the world at large
education and educators are yet again being forced to consider
their educational practices. Not all educators have been socialised
professionally to use technologies and therefore knowledge gaps
exist. This book adds to emerging conversations about the use of
technologies to support and indeed replace traditional teaching
methodologies in a range of educational settings. It offers an
example of innovative approach 'LearningWheel' to bridge the afore
mentioned knowledge gap and provides an opportunity for readers to
engage with technologies for teaching and learning purposes.
Beginning with an outline of how technologies are shaping the
learning landscape more broadly each subsequent chapter takes on a
layer of the LearningWheel and sets it in context from a
theoretical position. An example wheel is included in each chapter,
as are stop and pause questions to prompt educators to engage with
the content in a very real sense. By the end of the book readers
will have had the opportunity to connect with the LearningWheel
(VCoP) in the development of a Learning Wheel unique to this book.
Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, the Amazon
Prime series, Good Omens, quickly gained a cult following after
debuting in May of 2019. Contained in this story of looming
Armageddon are explorations of grief, friendship, good and evil,
the Bible, Milton, God and what it means to be human. This book
provides thirteen essays that center on various aspects of the
show, including theology, fan culture, female gaze, textual
elements and more. Also examining Gaiman's sense of obligation to
Pratchett, as well as the relationship between Good Omens and the
hit series Supernatural, these essays provide a critical analysis
of the show and its prominent themes.

Over fourteen seasons, the television series Supernatural has
developed a devoted following of both fans and scholars. The show
has addressed some big issues, including perhaps the biggest,
death. This collection of new essays examines how death is
represented and personified in the series, and how grief is
processed in American society. Contributors discuss the shows
explorations of the ultimate mystery, with topics covering American
traditions and attitudes, folklore and mythology, resurrection, and
grief and grieving.
It is 1899. The Reverend George Hobb has been attacked by a gang
and is now recovering, bloodied and bruised, in a dark prison cell.
A York-based barrister, James Cairn, is called to defend Hobb in
what appears to be an open-and-shut case, except for one thing: the
Reverend has swapped his dog collar for a woman's dress. The
authorities are determined to make an example of Hobb - but why?
Can Cairn prove his innocence? After receiving a blackmail threat,
Cairn hires Mortimer Blakely, a private investigator. When Blakely
mysteriously goes missing, Cairn realises that his own life is in
danger.
It is 1897. 18-year-old Daniel Robertshaw has always been an
outsider. Naive and childlike, he is shunned by his neighbours in
the Yorkshire fishing port of Staithes. When Daniel discovers the
dead body of a young girl washed up on the rocks, he is immediately
assumed guilty of killing her. As the city of York prepares for a
murder trial, more questions arise. Who is the young girl? Her body
has not been claimed. Will Daniel be able to prove his innocence?
Fossil-collecting barrister, James Cairn, knows Daniel and is
willing to represent him in court. He faces a struggle to prove
Daniel's innocence, but first he must find the real killer.
