Quantum Physics has revealed what many ancient cultures and wisdom
schools already knew. We live in a mutable universe. The static
model is no longer valid; we need to reform education to match
advances in brain-based research indicating music as source code of
light and reality. Musical intelligence is the best way for
children of all ages to learn and grow, as evidenced from infants
to elders, whose memory of old songs actually can bypass the brain
affected by old age and restore not only memory but identity and
joy in living as well.
Viewing the cultures of four different types of West Coast early
learning environments in the United States through the eyes of the
teachers themselves, variables important to lifelong evolution of
musical talents and the metacognitive benefits of music and
movement will be explored and synthesized. Brain-based research in
recent years has revealed just how important musical experiences in
early life might be to establishing healthy and holistic patterns
of learning (Louv, 2005, 2008; NIH, 2012; Nager & Shapiro,
2000; Restak, 2004, 2005). By analyzing and synthesizing theories
of open systems with ecological systems theories, multiple
intelligences theories, and theories about the innate force of
inner motivation and the power of movement and musically informed
play, a new lens or world view can emerge to aid in understanding
and utilizing holistic learning.
This KAM explores theories of intelligence, learning, and
motivation to attempt a better understanding of the many
interacting factors affecting the lifetime development of whole and
happy children in the 21st century. The focus is on justifying the
increased use of music as an art form in early childhood education.
The Breadth component analyzes Elkind's (2001, 2007) theories on
the power of play and Brofenbrenner's (1969, 1993) theories on
ecological systems. These theories are synthesized with Gardner's
(2000, 2006) theories of multiple intelligences, particularly
musical intelligence. Musical intelligence is considered as one of
the most important ingredients in a recipe for wholeness,
stimulating both the joy of learning and the desire to be a whole
and creative individual. The Depth section explores current
brain-based research models and the application component offers a
free framework and sample grant proposal for any individual or
community to implement.

26 Poems for the Dolphin and the Children, A COMPILATION of poetry
by the author. She was chosen five years in a row as one of 33
poets out of millions for the 3 CD set The Sound of Poetry on
poetry.com, attending the poet's convention at Disney World in
Orlando Florida in 2004 as an honored poet because her poem was to
have been presented in Hollywood CA the year before but that
conference was cancelled. Here is alphabet Book One of some of her
favorite poems, helping young children learn to read with
experiments in color and design that will eventually become songs
and even video games with photos of natural places and ways to
preserve ancient ways and cultures.
Photos are worth a thousand words. Here is a short picture therapy
book for those who are denied access to nature and natural places,
especially children raised in concrete jungles and in generational
poverty.
