A Chinese Taoist book about meditation, this book was first
translated by Richard Wilhelm (also translator, in the 1920s, of
the Chinese philosophical classic the I Ching). Wilhelm, was
German, and his translations from Chinese to German were later
translated to English by Cary F. Baynes. According to Wilhelm,
LuDongbin was the main originator of the material presented in the
book suggests that the material is from Quanzhen School founder
Wang Chongyang, a student of Lu Dongbin). More recently (2013), the
same work has been translated by Pei Yeing and published by Ancient
Wisdom Publications. Since the original (now, public domain) work
is a Chinese translation from German, it is strongly suggested that
this work should be considered as an alternative resource for any
serious practitioner. The translator of this work is a lifetime
practitioner of meditation is currently living in Shanghai, China
but a Malaysian Chinese by birth.
The Best of James Allen. Four books in one -Including: As a Man
Thinketh * The Path of Prosperity * Above Life's Turmoil * The Way
of Peace. (Plus a James Allen short biography by the
editor/complier)This collection shows how is no other facet of the
Spiritual Path that is more liberating and empowering than the
understanding how the quality of our thoughts can guide and form
our destiny and the quality of life we lead. We can contemplate
about God, Love and Oneness, but unless we learn early that first
and foremost our thoughts that guide and lead us, other ideals and
pursuits might be unfruitful. This collection shows that all the
creative powers and self-determination is our cosmic inheritance,
our birthright. It is all knowable.
This extensive new edition presents protocols reflecting the great
strides made in the study of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells.
The collection explores new and improved methods for the
generation, expansion, and maintenance of iPS cells from different
tissue types, characterization of their differentiation pathways
along different lineages, and their potential utility in tissue
repair and regeneration. Written for the highly successful Methods
in Molecular Biology series, chapters include introductions to
their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and
reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols,
and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.
Comprehensive and up-to-date, Induced Pluripotent Stem (iPS) Cells:
Methods and Protocols, Second Edition aims to arm stem cell
biologists, both novice and expert, with invaluable protocols that
are currently being used in various laboratories around the world.

This volume captures the rapid developments in the field of induced
pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, which have provided novel
opportunities and approaches both for better understanding a number
of human diseases and for developing new platforms for drug
development and screening for such diseases. Specifically,
representative protocols on various disease models have been
collected from labs around the world. Written for the highly
successful Methods in Molecular Biology series, chapters include
introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary
materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible
laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding
known pitfalls. Authoritative and practical, Patient-Specific
Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Models: Generation and
Characterization is an ideal reference for scientists working on
furthering iPS research.
It is said that many intelligent and otherwise capable people owned
the Secret Doctrine but only a handful actually understood and
comprehended it in its totality. The problem is that the esteemed
author, Madame Blavatsky used a prose and style that many
contemporary readers would have trouble reading and understanding.
The sheer size of the books is formidable. In addition the Secret
Doctrine attempts to cover everything from the complete Cosmology
of The Universe, God and the devil - just to name a few of the
subjects. The third, also called Lost Volume of the work was
published and mostly written by her disciple Annie Bessant, who
naturally knew a great deal less than her Master. According to
P.G.B. Bowen, Blavatsky gave the following instructions regarding
the study of the Secret Doctrine: "Reading the Secret .Doctrine
page by page as one reads any other book (she says) will only end
us in confusion. The first thing to do, even if it takes years, is
to get some grasp of the "Three Fundamental Principles" given in
the Proem. Follow that up by study of the Recapitulation - the
numbered items in the Summing Up to Vol. I (Part 1.) Then take the
Preliminary Notes (Vol. II) and the Conclusion (Vol. II)." Reading
this guide book and appendix A and B will certainly help
understanding the most important book in the last two hundred
years.
