As a consequence of globalization, news, ideas and knowledge are
moving quickly across national borders and generating international
spillovers. So too, however, are economic and financial crises.
Combining a variety of methods, concepts and interdisciplinary
approaches, this book provides an in-depth examination of these
structural changes and their impact. Case studies from a range of
countries including Japan, Turkey, Sweden, Germany and the USA
offer insight into different national contexts and are used to
explore a variety of theoretical and empirical issues relating to
the geography of growth. Assessing the implications of
globalization for businesses and sectors, the chapters focus on the
interdependencies between different economic and political layers,
and explore topics such as human capital, creativity, innovation,
networks and collaboration. Researchers and policy makers who are
interested in regional growth at different spatial scales will find
that this work addresses a number of existing knowledge gaps.
Students of economics, economic geography, regional science and
international industrial management will also find it to be a
valuable interdisciplinary resource to help deepen their knowledge
of the myriad processes induced by globalization. Contributors

THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUCCESS GUIDE 2ND EDITION:
Everything You Need To Know About Construction Contracts,
Estimating, Planning And Scheduling, Skills To Manage Trades And
Home Renovations You're about to discover how to the re-emergence
of the real estate market sparked renewed optimism in construction.
Across different states in the country, residential construction
jobs are being undertaken in order to satisfy the demands in
housing. Since residential construction projects are still a
business (except when you want to build your own home), the idea is
to build enough living spaces and to offer them to prospective
clients or leasers at an affordable price. Of course the success of
such a goal still lies on income and the general economic outlook,
but one thing is for certain: now that the housing crisis is over,
more people will look forward getting a place to call their home.
The origins of satyr drama, and particularly the reliability of the
account in Aristotle, remains contested, and several of this
volume's contributions try to make sense of the early relationship
of satyr drama to dithyramb and attempt to place satyr drama in the
pre-Classical performance space and traditions. What is not
contested is the relationship of satyr drama to tragedy as a
required cap to the Attic trilogy. Here, however, how Aeschylus,
Sophocles, and Euripides (to whom one complete play and the
preponderance of the surviving fragments belong) envisioned the
relationship of satyr drama to tragedy in plot, structure, setting,
stage action and language is a complex subject tackled by several
contributors. The playful satyr chorus and the drunken senility of
Silenos have always suggested some links to comedy and later to
Atellan farce and phlyax. Those links are best examined through
language, passages in later Greek and Roman writers, and in art.
The purpose of this volume is probe as many themes and connections
of satyr drama with other literary genres, as well as other art
forms, putting satyr drama on stage from the sixth century BC
through the second century AD. The editors and contributors suggest
solutions to some of the controversies, but the volume shows as
much that the field of study is vibrant and deserves fuller
attention.

The fluidity of myth and history in antiquity and the ensuing
rapidity with which these notions infiltrated and cross-fertilized
one another has repeatedly attracted the scholarly interest. The
understanding of myth as a phenomenon imbued with social and
historical nuances allows for more than one methodological
approaches. Within the wider context of interdisciplinary exchange
of ideas, the present volume returns to origins, as it traces and
registers the association and interaction between myth and history
in various literary genres in Greek and Roman antiquity (i.e. an
era when the scientific definitions of and distinctions between
myth and history had not yet been perceived as such, let alone
fully shaped and implemented), providing original ideas, new
interpretations and (re)evaluations of key texts and less
well-known passages, close readings, and catholic overviews. The
twenty-four chapters of this volume expand from Greek epos to lyric
poetry, historiography, dramatic poetry and even beyond, to genres
of Roman era and late antiquity. It is the editors' hope that this
volume will appeal to students and academic researchers in the
areas of classics, social and political history, archaeology, and
even social anthropology.
This book provides a unique analysis of the intersection between
gender, sexuality, race, and social media. While early scholarship
identified the internet as being inherently egalitarian, this
volume presents the internet as a "real" social place where
inequalities matter and manifest in particular ways according to
the architectures of particular platforms. This volume utilizes
innovative methodologies to analyze how internet users both
re-inscribe and resist inequalities of gender, sexuality, and race.
It describes how the internet has ameliorated and bridged
geographic and numerical limits on community formation, and this
volume examines how the functioning of social inequalities differs
on- and offline.
Governance matters for social welfare. Better governed countries
are richer, happier and have fewer social and environmental
problems. Good governance implies that public sector agents act
impartially. It manifests itself in the form of equality before the
law, an independent and professional public administration and the
control of corruption. This book considers how economic inequality
- both interpersonal and interethnic - can affect the quality of
governance. To this end, it brings together insights from three
different perspectives. First, a long-run historical one that
exploits anthropological data on pre-industrial societies. Second,
based on experimental work conducted by social psychologists and
behavioural economists. Third, through cross-country empirical
analysis drawn from a large sample of contemporary societies. The
long-run perspective relates the inequality-governance relationship
to societal responses in the face of uncertainty - responses that
persist today in the guise of cultural traits that vary across
countries. The experimental evidence deepens our understanding of
human behaviour in unequal settings and in different governance
contexts. Together, the long-run perspective and the experimental
evidence help inform the cross-country analysis of the impact of
economic inequality on governance. This analysis suggests the
importance of both economic inequality and culture for the quality
of governance and yields several policy implications.

"Queer Visibility in Post-socialist Cultures" explores the public
constructions of gay, lesbian, and queer identities, as well as
ways of thinking about sexuality and gender, in post-socialist
cultures across the European region formerly known as the Eastern
bloc. Featuring eleven essays by scholars and activist researchers
focusing on Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Croatia,
Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Belarus, and Russia, the collection
encompasses a wide range of fields, including gender and sexuality
studies, Eastern European studies, media and film studies,
sociology, and cultural anthropology. Together, the essays reveal a
paradigm of visibility politics centered on the vexed interaction
between the post-socialist notions of queerness in activist
strategies and the nationalist, mainstream representations of
non-normative sexualities.

In der psychoanalytischen Entwicklungspsychologie spielte bisher
der Vater bis zum 3. Lebensjahr seines Kindes erstaunlicherweise
beriicksieh- tigt. Fast immer fehlt in den einschlagigen
Zeitschriften und Sachbii- chern das Stiehwort "Vater". Das
