This volume provides state-of-the-art techniques for studying
various aspects of cholesterol homeostasis, including its uptake,
synthesis and efflux from the cell, as well as its trafficking
within the cell. Chapters also cover techniques for studying the
regulation of cholesterol homeostasis at both the transcriptional
and post-translational levels, as well as studying the membrane
topology and structure of cholesterol-related proteins. Written in
the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format,
chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of
the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily
reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and
avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and practical, Cholesterol
Homeostasis: Methods and Protocols aims to provide key techniques
in tackling the investigation of cholesterol homeostasis.

This collection addresses current controversies about the
relationship between science and religion, in which Augustine is
appealed to by opposing sides, showing his continuing relevance, as
well as the subtlety and complexity of his views. Questions on
evolution are especially focused on, and from a variety of
perspectives, often with quite different conclusions between the
essays. This is truly a conversation about Augustine, science, and
religion.

It is the tail-end of the first millennium, and there is something
very rotten in the heart of Jorvik. A mad, Saxon earl perches
precariously atop the throne of the old Viking king, barely
controlling a court of predatory schemers hellbent on tearing
whatever strips of power they can from the dying corpse of the
city. Yet there is something far, far worse than Machiavellian
politicians stalking the back alleys and byways of the once great
capital of the north. Persuaded out of his self-imposed exile to
find a missing bridegroom, Olin Odinson is thrown into a sinister
world of cannibals, Satanists, demons, and witches. Yet, as he
struggles to come to terms with the altered nature of the city he
once called home, it is the unavoidable meeting with his abandoned
sister that fills Olin's heart with dread. Languishing in the
British Royal Armouries, Olin's sword reminisces about the good old
days, spinning an anachronistic adventure mystery, that
effortlessly blends old and new with startling results.
The explosive conclusion of A Crow Among Ravens "Strapped to Little
Olin's back, I can feel the beating of his heart through my
scabbard. He's excited. Ready for the fray. Primed for action.
You've no doubt heard of the calm before the storm? Well, ever one
to buck against tradition, this is the storm before The Calm." Can
the Krau-Y-Kree and his rag-tag band of ne'er do wells really take
down the whole might of the mythic Red Skulls? Either way, it's
gonna be beautifully bloody. What? I'm a sword! In my defence, this
is what I was made to do.
The second book in the A Crow Among Ravens trilogy. Still reeling
from Isolde's revelations at the end of Book One, Olin tries to
juggle commitments to family and friends with his ongoing
investigation into the disappearance of Snaevar Ulfson. After being
summoned to the court of his old captain, the mad earl of Jorvik,
Oiln begins to realise that he is being drawn into a sinister game
of power politics that will decide the fate of the entire Christian
world. Languishing in the British Royal Armouries, Olin's sword
reminisces about the good old days, spinning an anachronistic
adventure mystery, that effortlessly blends old and new with
startling results.
This book is a self-help book that aims to be different than many
others before it. Oftentimes, self-help books offer up an
inspirational story from the author's life that seeks to motivate
us. It's hard not to be motivated when reading about how someone
overcame cancer, or worked their way out of extreme poverty, or
overcame some form of disability. However, shortly after reading
the book, the inspiration is forgotten and the reader is right back
where he or she started. In order to create lasting change in a
person that allows them to become autonomous, intrinsically
motivated, and truly happy, you have to start with the person
themselves. Livin' the Dream seeks to target the person's
perspective and cause change that way. By combining classical
philosophy with modern psychology research, the readers learn
various perspectives and ideas on happiness which enables them to
change their own perspectives. Because a person's perspective
directly impacts how the person views the world, changing the
reader's perspective effectively changes the world he or she lives
in. To do so, the book discusses topics like choice, free will,
death and loss, personality, and what is and is not under your
control. Once the readers have done that, it's time for them to
learn who they really are and then promptly overcome themselves and
strive to always be better. This isn't a book that tells people
what their dreams should be; it's a book that enables people to
understand and decide for themselves what they believe their dreams
should be and inspires them to live them every day.
The Odious Tale of Hulla Balloo is the dastardly story of a
terrifying sea monster and his (almost) equally scary pet frog,
Horace. They cast a shadow of fear over the oceans, but when
Shelly, a small girl from Outer Mongolia, refuses to be a victim
Balloo and Horace meet their match. Wickedly written and
illustrated by Children's Bafta nominated interactive writer and
director Andrew J Brown
