British comedy horror. In the dead end seaside town of Rainmouth, Jamie (Ed Speleers) finds himself stuck running his pothead mother's B and B for the entire summer holidays. His summer starts to look a little brighter when he meets smart and sexy American Juliana (Jessica Szohr) but not long after her arrival, strange things start happening and local teens start to go missing one by one. Jamie is warned by a mysterious stranger that a werewolf is in town, preying solely on virgin flesh. The only protection appears to be to get laid as quickly as possible... Kierston Wareing, Luke Pasqualino and Timothy Spall co-star.
Double bill of BBC adaptations of M.R. James's ghost story 'Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad', written in 1904. In 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' (1968) Michael Hordern plays Professor Parkin who heads to a hotel on the east coast of England where he comes across a bone whistle while out on a walk. He takes it back to the hotel with him but that night hears strange noises in his room and, despite his dismissal of the supernatural, he is soon faced with more mysterious goings-on. In 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' (2010) John Hurt stars as James Parkin who, in this version, is a retired astronomer taking a much needed break from caring for his ailing wife. After finding a ring while wandering through the coastal resort he finds himself experiencing increasingly frightening and seemingly paranormal activity.
Made-for-TV drama about the soldiers who produced their own magazine in the trenches of World War I. While stationed in Ypres, Belgium, in 1916, Captain Fred Roberts (Ben Chaplin) and Lieutenant Jack Pearson (Julian Rhind-Tutt) come across a printing press and decide to use it to produce a satirical magazine called The Wipers Times. Despite the ongoing war and the disapproval of their superiors, Roberts and Pearson continue with their publication, helping to keep up the spirits of their fellow soliders in such dark times.
