Chocolate Camelot is poetry for the entire family. It contains words of tribute for our ancestors, encouragement for and a celebration of contemporary men and women, hope for future generations, and inspiration for us all. A male friend suggested I write something that would uplift Black men so I asked men what they would like to hear said about themselves, added what I hoped would be words of encouragement and "Knight in Chocolate Armor" was born. And because we also fight on the battlefield, "Lady Knight" was written. Another friend asked if I would write something for the family man. That poem became "Nobleman" and, thus, "Noblewoman" because we are in this together. The titles may sound fanciful to some, but I believe they accurately capture the essence of Black men and women in today's society. Since Camelot essentially symbolizes potential and promise for the future, and Black people have always been a people of potential and promise, the opportunity for Chocolate Camelot is within us. Although the poems in this collection are designed for a specific gender or approximate age group as determined by the issues addressed, most of the topics are relevant for anyone of any age in any culture. I have also included a poem entitled, "Comrade" in appreciation of our friends. It is my desire that these poems will generate conversation and understanding among family members, peers and individuals of all ages, walks of life and cultures. I share my thoughts with you understanding that you may not share my view. That is entirely okay Writing this tribute to and for us has been a liberating labor of love and I hope that these poems touch your heart as I share mine with you. Welcome to Chocolate Camelot.

Memoir of my struggle with congestive heart failure. The book follows my life as I deteriorate. I take the reader through the process of getting a new heart, and share what goes on in the head of someone who is dying.
