Regions within EU member states such as Scotland and Catalonia have their own legal systems. How will the process of "Europeanization" affect them? This study examines the phenomenon of "regional" private law in the EU, considering jurisdictions and laws beneath those of the Member States and drawing comparisons with other jurisdictions elsewhere. This issue is considered in relationship to the development of European private law, and the use of codification.
