Stallone plays Cosmo, the smartest of the three Carboni brothers, and the one who comes up with the idea of trying to make a fortune in the seedy world of wrestling. Cosmo's brother Victor (Lee Canalito) agrees to enter the ring, while elder brother Lenny (Armand Assante) comes aboard as manager, and together the three of them begin to make some real money. But as Victor becomes more and more successful, the brothers come into conflict with underworld bum Stitch Mahon (Kevin Conway).
