This open access
book, comprising thirty-nine chapters divided
into social, cultural, economic, and political
spheres, offers a unique opportunity to dive into the
complex, dynamic, and sometimes contradictory transformation of
Gulf societies in the last few decades. Whilst the Gulf
region has at times been seen as impervious to this natural
phenomenon of transformation—timeless, never changing,
deeply rooted in its ancient tribal customs and traditions and able
to blend past and present seamlessly without suffering the
wrenching trauma of change—this is clearly not the case,
and the region is not immune to the inevitable forces of social
change. There is no doubt today that the social change
sweeping the Gulf has been profound, affecting almost every aspect
of life in the Gulf societies. This volume has an
encyclopedic value as the chapters collectively offer multifaceted
and multidisciplinary perspectives to understand social change in
the Gulf region. Through these chapters, the role of economic and
educational transformation, and the impact of social media,
migration, and urbanization have in driving social change in the
Gulf societies is examined in detail with a focus on their
directions, magnitudes, and relevant policy options. It also
considers how COVID-19 is affecting the lives of the people in the
Gulf. This book bridges gaps in the understanding of
the rapid pace of social change in the Gulf, offering practical
solutions for policy interventions. It is of interest to scholars
and students in Middle Eastern studies, specifically, as well as
sociology, media studies, migration studies, and educational
policy.

Queer Ecofeminism: From Binary Environmental Endeavours to
Postgender Pursuits navigates environmental politics by revisiting
ecofeminism through an intersectional lens that enmeshes climate
justice with matters revolving around sexuality, gender, race, and
far-right politics. Asmae Ourkiya focuses on deconstructing
essentialised conceptualisations of femininities, masculinities,
and gender identities and reintroduces humanity as a species with
much potential that is yet to be unlocked if only “biological
sex”, skin color, and indigeneity would not be classist factors
shaping humans into hierarchical classes. This work draws from
analyzing a diverse and carefully chosen selection of artwork, film
productions, and historical events to showcase the potency of
ecofeminism. this work draws from analyzing a diverse and carefully

Written by the Shale Shaker Committee of the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers, originally of the American Association of
Drilling Engineers, the authors of this book are some of the most
well-respected names in the world for drilling. The first edition,
Shale Shakers and Drilling Fluid Systems, was only on shale
shakers, a very important piece of machinery on a drilling rig that
removes drill cuttings. The original book has been much expanded to
include many other aspects of drilling solids control, including
chapters on drilling fluids, cut-point curves, mud cleaners, and
many other pieces of equipment that were not covered in the
original book.
-Written by a team of more than 20 of the world's foremost drilling
experts, from such companies as Shell, Conoco, Amoco, and BP.
-There has never been a book that pulls together such a vast array
of materials and depth of topic coverage in the area of drilling
fluids.
-Covers quickly changing technology that updates the drilling
engineer on all of the latest equipment, fluids, and techniques.
Modi: The Wheels of Change is a biography of Narendra Damodardas
Modi, the 15th and current Prime Minister of India. It provides a
compilation on the subject related to the Modi's electoral
commitment, day to day work and governance of BJP during the second
six month of their rule. It chronicles and documents events from
the contemporary political scene in India. This revealing biography
draws its material from governmental papers, articles and news
items published nationally and internationally, as well as new
media sources. Modi: Wheels of Change speaks to readers and
researchers alike and is a must-read for anyone interested in the
history and daily practice of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and
the practice of governance incontemporary India.
Volume 14A is an indispensable reference for manufacturing,
materials, and design engineers. It provides comprehensive coverage
and essential technical information on the process-design
relationships that are needed to select and control metalworking
operations that produce shapes from forging, extrusion, drawing and
rolling operations. This engineering reference book is an
invaluable reference resource for process and production engineers
and industrial (shop-floor) personnel in the automotive, aerospace,
and other industries, as well as for students of metal forming.
In-depth discussion of forming equipment, processes, materials, and
advanced modeling techniques make it a substantially new updated
ASM Handbook. Some of the new topics and coverage
include:Innovations with forming processes such as equal-channel
angular extrusion and advanced roll-forming techniques Forming of
special-purpose materials such as intermetallic alloys and
composites) Discussion of advanced thermomechanical processes for
both ferrous and non-ferrous alloys New articles dealing with
process and material-behavior models, process optimization, and the
properties of workpiece and die materials Contents includes:
Introduction, Forging Equipment, Forging Processes, Cold Heading
and Cold Extrusion, Other Bulk Forming Processes, Forging of Steels
and Heat-Resistant Alloys, Forging of Nonferrous Metals, Evaluation
of Workability, Modeling and Computer Aided Process Design for Bulk
Forming, Reference Information.
The theme for the 2021 conference was System-in-Package (SiP)
technology. Papers include discussions on board and system level
failure analysis; detecting counterfeit microelectronics; emerging
failure analysis techniques and concepts; future challenges of
failure analysis; scanning probe analysis; hardware attacks,
security, and reverse engineering; microscopy and material
characterization; nanoprobing and electrical characterization; and
more. In the 21st century, the electronic market will be driven by
consumers with demands of immediate entertainment, fast access to
information, and communications anywhere in a personalized fashion
and at affordable prices. The new challenge is not how many
transistors can be built on a single chip, as in System-on-Chip
(SoC), but rather how to integrate diverse circuits together
predictably, harmoniously, and cost effectively. Instead of getting
twice the transistors for the same cost as Moore's Law predicted in
the past 50 years, the goal of SiP is to obtain the same number of
transistors for half the cost within less than half the time to
market.
Space physiology and space medicine are fairly recent sciences,
born of the desire to launch man into space and bring him safely
back again. Weightlessness and cosmic radiation - conditions which
can neither be adequately simulated nor reproduced on earth - are
on the other hand used as research tools for medical experiments,
in particular in the fields of neurophysiology, internal medicine
as well as genetics and radiation dosimetry. The newly established
Austrian Society for Aerospace Medicine provides a basis for
multidisciplinary approaches to spaceflight biomedical research.
Diagnostic, prognostic and elective, operational and preventive
measures can be fostered by activities of the Society. In October
1991 the first Austrian was launched into orbital flight and
fulfilled an ambitious scientific program which was dominated by
life science experiments in the areas of cardiovascular medicine,
fluid-electrolyte research, neurophysiology, endocrinology,
genetics, and radiation biology. The results from these
experiments, presented in this book, will help to improve the
management of biomedical problems in daily life.

This volume covers standard designations from worldwide standards
for cast irons and steels, wrought carbon and alloy steels,
stainless steels, high strength steels, and tool steels. Entries
are provided for more than 30,000 alloy designations. Well over
5000 entries have been updated, and more than 3000 are new
additions. In particular, the Fifth Edition features expanded
coverage for specifications and designations from Japan, China,
India, and South Korea. Listings include specification or standard
number and title, steel designation or grade, chemical composition,
product form and condition, tensile strength, yield strength,
elongation, and hardness values. The volume includes a
comprehensive alloy index and index of standards (by designation).
The updated Fifth Edition incorporates the many changes in the
specifications and designations of irons and steels that have
occurred in recent years. It also covers more countries, more
alloys, and more standards than previous editions, while keeping
obsolete designations for those persons trying to duplicate
equipment from old documents.
