Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.
Conceptually, a database consists of objects and relationships.
Object Relationship Notation (ORN) is a simple notation that more
precisely defines relationships by combining UML multiplicities
with uniquely defined referential actions.
Object Relationship Notation (ORN) for Database Applications:
Enhancing the Modeling and Implementation of Associations shows how
ORN can be used in UML class diagrams & database definition
languages (DDLs) to better model & implement relationships
& thus more productively develop database applications. For the
database developer, it presents many examples of relationships
modeled using ORN-extended class diagrams & shows how these
relationships are easily mapped to an ORN-extended SQL or Object
DDL. For the DBMS developer, it presents the specifications &
algorithms needed to implement ORN in a relational and object
DBMS.
This book also describes tools that can be downloaded or
accessed via the Web. These tools allow databases to be modeled
using ORN and implemented using automatic code generation that adds
ORN support to Microsoft SQL Server and Progress Object Store.
WPA Technical Series: Research and Records Bibliography No. 7;
Revised April 1943. This work was originally prepared by the Work
Projects Administration (formerly the Works Progress
Administration), and entitled "WPA Research and Records
Bibliography No. 4," dated September 12, 1940, and "Research and
Records Bibliography No. 4, revised," issued September 1, 1941.
With this printing, the publication was reissued with the title
"Bibliography of Research Projects Reports: Check List of
Historical Records Survey Publications, revised April 1943," which
better reflects the content of the book. This is the final listing
of "Historical Records Survey" publications issued between 1936 and
1943, which were prepared under various names and several related
federal programs. Included in these publications are transcriptions
of state, county, town and municipal records, taken from the
various archives that provide detailed information accumulated by
each governing body and that depict important and relevant
historical data to the genealogist and historian. Many of the
records transcribed included minutes of meetings, matters taken
before the court, and the work product of various commissions and
boards. Also of vital interest to researchers are listings of what
reports or publications are available for the various states,
counties, and municipalities, and, more importantly, where those
publications are located.
Palenque is one of the best known and oldest Mayan archaeological
sites. But recently little has been published on the ongoing work
here. Marken's collection brings the archaeological record of
Palenque up to date. Chapters cover a wide range of topics from
architecture to hieroglyphic texts, from broad issues of chronology
to settlement to theoretical and methodological issues concerning
architectural excavations. Palenque represents an important update
of research for any Mayan archaeologist.
