Series III is based on the Revised Common Lectionary and New Revised Standard Version.

B. David Hostetter is a retired pastor of the Presbyterian Church USA. He served as a pastor and education consultant in that denomination and in the Presbyterian Church in Canada. He graduated from Princeton University, received a master of arts in religious education from New York University School of Education, and graduated in theology from Presbyterian Church Montreal.

Pastors and worship leaders know that we encounter God through the reading of Scripture in worship. They sometimes encounter difficulty, however, in integrating the day's readings from the lectionary with the other elements of worship.
