The complete series 1-3 of the blackly comic drama starring Bryan Cranston as a high school chemistry teacher who discovers that he is dying from inoperable lung cancer and decides to raise money for his family by embarking on a new career as a crystal meth dealer.
Season 1
Bryan Cranston gives an Emmy Award-winning performance as Walter White, a down-on-his-luck chemistry teacher struggling to make ends meet for his wife and physically challenged son. Everything changes when Walter receives a startling diagnosis: terminal lung cancer. With only a few years to live and nothing to lose, Walter uses his training as a chemist to cook and sell crystal meth with one of his former students. As his status grows, so do his lies, but Walt will stop at nothing to make sure his family is taken care of after he’s gone, even if it means putting all their lives on the line.
Season 2
Season 2 finds Walt and Jesse in way over their heads. As their partnership reaches new heights, Walt and Jesse begin to see the extremes of the drug trafficking business. Their trademark blue meth is making them rich, but it’s getting more difficult than ever for Walt to conceal the truth from his wife Skyler, his son Walter Jr. and his DEA agent brother-in-law Hank. Walt struggles to maintain control of his life as he contends with vicious drug dealers, an increasingly distant wife and son, the impending birth of his daughter, and a strung-out business partner – all while battling terminal lung cancer.
Season 3
Even though his cancer is in remission, chemistry-teacher-turned-meth- maker Walt White still can’t catch a break. His wife has filed for divorce, his DEA agent brother-in-law is out to bust him and a Mexican cartel just wants him dead. But with his family’s future still at stake, Walt cooks up a deal that will make him a fortune, a scheme with a terrible price.
City Of Broken Dreams brings the global debate about the urban university to bear on the realities of South African rust-belt cities through a detailed case study of the Eastern Cape motor city of East London, a site of significant industrial job losses over the past two decades. The cultural power of the car and its associations with the endless possibilities of modernity lie at the heart of the refusal of many rust-belt motor cities to seek alternative development paths that could move them away from racially inscribed, automotive capitalism and cultures. This is no less true in East London than it is in the motor cities of Flint and Detroit in the US.
Since the end of the Second World War, universities have become increasingly urbanised, resulting in widespread concerns about the autonomy of universities as places of critical thinking and learning. Simultaneously, there is increased debate about the role universities can play in building urban economies, creating jobs and reshaping the politics and identities of cities.
In City Of Broken Dreams, author Leslie Bank embeds the reader's understanding of the university within a history of industrialisation, placing-making and city building.

An engrossing portrait of an alien world and two very different
people bound by a startling and mysterious secret from the
internationally bestselling author of The Player of Games and
Consider Phlebas Iain M. Banks. On a backward world with six moons,
an alert spy reports on the doings of one Dr. Vosill, who has
mysteriously become the personal physician to the king despite
being a foreigner and, even more unthinkably, a woman. Vosill has
more enemies than she first realizes. But she also has more
remedies in hand than those who wish ill can ever guess. Elsewhere,
in another palace across the mountains, a man named DeWar serves as
chief bodyguard to the Protector General of Tassasen, a profession
he describes as the business of "assassinating assassins." DeWar,
too, has his enemies, but his foes strike more swiftly, and his
means of combating them are more direct. No one trusts the doctor,
and the bodyguard trusts no one, but is there a hidden commonality
linking their disparate histories? Spiraling around a central core
of mystery, deceit, love, and betrayal, Inversions is a dazzling
work of science fiction from "a talent to be reckoned with" (Locus
Magazine) at the height of his remarkable powers.
