There really is something for everyone in this unique collection of forty poems. Barbara May Boot takes a look back on her past - a time of ration books and old tin baths in 'Memories' and, as the title poem suggests, she contemplates the very nature of life itself as well as the great joy it can bring in 'The Golden Years'. The author warmly invites you into her world, which is one where music and song play a significant role, as in 'Our Ladies' Choir' and where you can never underestimate the power of a positive disposition in 'Give Away a Smile'. Along with her clear love of nature and laced with spiritual undertones, this is an inspiring book which can be leisurely enjoyed wherever you may be.
Let me introduce you to my book of forty poems by Barbara May Boot written especially with children in mind. There is a varied selection in the book ranging from fantasy like The Three P,s to The Quarrelsome Computer Keyboard, to the delightful, like My Horse Toby and Me, and Our Visit to Uncles Farm. Most of the poems are about children and the situations they find themselves in. All the poems are written in easy grammar for children aged four to six to be read to, and are able to understand and children six to ten who would enjoy reading them themselves. It is a pick-up-and-down book to be read anywhere. I do hope you all enjoy the poems as much as I have had the enormous pleasure in writing them. Happy reading. Barbara May Boot.
