Until now there has not been a comprehensive guide to understanding
the Holy Spirit and His role in contemporary language for the
average person. Many Christians feel that understanding the Holy
Spirit is beyond their ability. But nothing could be further from
the truth. In this updated and rewritten guide to The Person and
Work of the Holy Spirit, Barry Davis and R.A. Torrey consistently
and thoroughly present the third member of the Trinity in a way
that anyone can grasp. The reader will learn more about the Holy
Spirit and His role in our personal lives, the church, and the
world at large than he or she could have ever imagined. In
seventeen inspirational chapters the authors describe: *The
Personality of the Holy Spirit * The Deity of the Holy Spirit * The
Distinctive Role of the Holy Spirit in the Godhead (Trinity) * The
Person & Work of the Holy Spirit as Revealed in His Names *
Holy Spirit Convicting the World of Sin, Righteousness, &
Judgment * The Holy Spirit Bearing Witness to Jesus Christ * The
Regenerating Work of the Holy Spirit * The Indwelling Spirit Fully
& Forever Satisfying * The Holy Spirit Forming Christ Within Us
* The Holy Spirit & Sonship * The Holy Spirit as Teacher *
Praying, Returning Thanks, & Worshiping in the Holy Spirit *
The Holy Spirit Sending People Out to do Works of Service * The
Holy Spirit's Anointing Over the Individual Christian's Life * The
Holy Spirit Gives Power & Gifts to His Followers * The Work of
the Holy Spirit in Prophets & Apostles * The Work of the Holy
Spirit in Jesus Christ
What is the secret of good preaching? A man should not preach at
all, unless he has a message. A fondness for talking, a love of
display, or a desire for prominence should not be a motive
impelling any man to preach. At the back of all really good
preaching are a consecrated life, a prepared mind, a gift of
utterance and a message to help the souls of men. In "The Art of
Sermon Construction" T.H. Scambler teaches us exactly what type of
person it takes to be a good preacher, how to prepare a sermon, and
how to preach it No stone is left unturned in this magnificent
volume.
For most of us, one of the most rewarding, yet difficult tasks, is
preparing messages to preach and teach. We are honored by God to
stand before our congregations each week, and we want to give them
the very best, but with the press of the many commitments of
ministry, sometimes that is difficult. And if you're like me, you
prefer writing your own sermons, because you have a special
connection with your congregation that is hard to reach through a
message someone else has written. In other words, no one knows your
people like you do But what if you could start with a prepared
outline, complete with solidly Scriptural points, and a
contemporary, attention-getting illustration, and then add your own
details and emphasis to it? Would that help? I think it would. In
fact, I know it would. Our Pulpit Outline Series features the
following: *Each Volume contains 52 Sermons, giving you a years
worth of messages. *Each Sermon includes a relevant illustration
you can use however you like. *Each of these outlines could easily
be broken up into series of their own. We are so honored that
you're considering investing in this volume in the Pulpit Outline
series - 52 Topical Sermons Volume 3 - there will be more to come

In the estimation of many preachers down through the years, Charles
H. Spurgeon is the greatest preacher to ever stand behind a pulpit
in the post-New Testament era. The massive volume of his sermon
material is itself astounding and without compare, but when you
consider the content of his messages he stands head and shoulders
above the rest. Spurgeon was a preacher's preacher, and those of us
who stand behind the sacred desk would do well to learn from him.
Spurgeon would join the Apostle Paul in exhorting us to: "Preach
the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts
shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And
they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables." - 2 Timothy 4:2-4 (KJV) We have compiled this
wonderful collection of sermon outlines and preaching tips on the
Psalms to help you do exactly that Contained in the following pages
you will find the sermon material that Spurgeon himself found most
useful to those in ministry. It was originally a part of Spurgeon's
vast commentary on the Psalms, The Treasury of David. We have taken
all of the sections specifically designed to help preachers and put
it in this one extremely practical volume. If you are preaching on
one Psalm, doing a series through the Psalms, or merely wanting to
learn more about the Psalms, this will become your most valuable
resource. There is more material here for preaching on the Psalms
than any other book that I am aware of. Please free to use any of
the following material in your preaching or teaching ministry. Use
it "as is" or feel free to adapt it to your own style.
