This book presents medical image watermarking techniques and
algorithms for telemedicine and other emerging applications. This
book emphasizes on medical image watermarking to ensure the
authenticity of transmitted medical information. It begins with an
introduction of digital watermarking, important characteristics,
novel applications, different watermarking attacks and standard
benchmark tools. This book also covers spatial and transform domain
medical image watermarking techniques and their merits and
limitations. The authors have developed improved/novel watermarking
techniques for telemedicine applications that offer higher
robustness, better perceptual quality and increased embedding
capacity and secure watermark. The suggested methods may find
potential applications in the prevention of patient identity theft
and health data management issues which is a growing concern in
telemedicine applications. This book provides a sound platform for
understanding the medical image watermarking paradigm for
researchers in the field and advanced-level students. Industry
professionals working in this field, as well as other emerging
applications demanding robust and secure watermarking will find
this book useful as a reference.
This book is the English version of Chandi Purana, written in Odia
by Sarala Das. Indigenous and secular, the Chandi Purana is a
shastra for laymen, a bold step towards fulfilling their right to
knowledge. Based on the legend of Durga's incarnation of Chandi, as
narrated in the Vishnu Purana, Sarala Das's Chandi Purana, written
in Odia, marks the beginning of the era of classical Odia
literature. It is not, however, just a renewed vernacular edition
of an old story told in Sanskrit long ago; its objective is to
communicate one of the great themes of Indian mythology to the
common folk whom myth marginalizes and history excludes. And in
doing so, the poet administers certain changes, based on local
religions, beliefs, and customs. He introduces the Odia legend of
Chandi by interpreting her as Sarala Chandi of Kanakpur, Odisha,
where she has been 'worshipped for one lakh and thirty-two thousand
years of Kaliyuga'. Second, in Sanskrit texts, the story is told by
Sage Medha to King Suratha and Samadhi Vaisya. In Chandi Purana,
Sage Shuka is the narrator and King Parikshit is the listener,
which reflects the poet's adherence to Vaishnavism. Essentially, a
war story, it presents Durga not only as a goddess in war, but also
as a mother figure who tears apart the patriarchal frame in which
women are treated as subordinates.
This new volume introduces various VLSI (very-large-scale
integration) architecture for DSP filters, speech filters, and
image filters, detailing their key applications and discussing
different aspects and technologies used in VLSI design, models and
architectures, and more. The volume explores the major challenges
with the aim to develop real-time hardware architecture designs
that are compact and accurate. Knowledge of VLSI is necessary for
understanding today’s contemporary hardware prospects of
engineering. It is the process of creating an integrated circuit by
combining millions of MOS transistors onto a single chip that is
needed for handheld portable battery-operated devices that require
efficient, errorless, and low-power arithmetic operation. VLSI
plays a most important role in the performance of digital systems,
digital signal processing (DSP), image processing applications,
hardware security, quantum computing, etc. Especially in DSP
systems, the algorithms of VLSI have a number of interesting
characteristics that can be exploited in the design of the
arithmetic circuits so that they can be implemented more
efï¬ciently in terms of computation time, chip area, and power
consumption. This volume, VLSI Architecture for Signal, Speech, and
Image Processing, provides useful research in the field of computer
arithmetic and can be applied for various arithmetic circuits, for
their digital implementation schemes, and for performance
considerations. It covers how computer arithmetic contributes to
the era of quantum computing, hardware security, image processing,
biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, neural networks,
and stochastic computing. Prepared by leading researchers in the
field of computer arithmetic architecture, the state-of-the-art
information presented here helps to provide a comprehensive
understanding of VLSI for students, faculty, and researchers in
computer science, computer engineering, and electrical and
electronics engineering. It may be used as a textbook for courses
on VLSI as well as a reference book.
This authored book is primarily for the readers who are in search
of how to use basic concepts of statistics in the field of fishery
science. It has been written for the new comers coming in the
fishery sector including university students, teachers and research
scholars. It enriches the reader's knowledge of data analysis step
by step starting from data collection to its analysis and
interpretation along with practical application with real example.
It supports readers for enhancing theoretical and practical concept
of application of fundamental statistics in fishery domain. Reader
may also learn how to analyses data using different statistical
software. Each chapter starts with an introduction of the topic
followed by statistical concept with example and ends with chapter
based question for comprehension purpose. This book is of interest
to teachers, researchers, scientists, capacity builders in fishery
sciences. Also the book serves as additional reading material for
undergraduate and graduate students of fisheries and aquatic
sciences.
