This books aim is to introduce the English reader to the major
Swiss novelist.
A number of essays by the colleagues and pupils of Margery Perham,
one of Britain's best known commentators on contemporary
developments in colonial policy and in particular the problems of
administration and politics in Africa. The essays reflect the range
of her interests within her chosen fields of history and
government.
This book investigates how the Anglican Church, and its most
illustrious theological writers, attempted to reconcile the
doctrines of episcopal and royal supremacy during the Church's
formative years. This analysis sheds light on the larger question
of how the influence of the Protestant Reformation affected the
development of the Church of England.

attention to often-neglected marks of punctuation in the
manuscripts.

discusses his appeals to common sense and to ordinary language and
his concept of the theory of meaning. This is followed by a close

method is then illustrated in chapters on Moore's ethics and on his
views on visual perception.

World War. Recorded by Basil Blackwell's daughter in 1998 it has
been published to honour his memories and his bravery during the
War, since his passing in February 2009. All profits will be
donated to Help for Heroes and The British Legion.
