Managing Organizations for Sustainable Development in Emerging
Countries focuses on the main challenges and opportunities of
managing firms and emerging economies in the light of sustainable
development. One of the key questions of sustainable development is
how organizations from developing countries are achieving their
economic goals while considering, simultaneously, environmental
issues like conservation of natural resources, eco-efficiency,
biodiversity conservation, and climate-change mitigation. These
questions are relevant for government, industry, and urban
sustainability. However, in the modern literature that discusses
organizational management for sustainable development, few studies
focus on the reality of organizations from emerging countries.
Moreover, changing environmental legislation in emerging countries
(such as China and Brazil) will affect organizational managers. In
this context, this book may contribute to organizational management
in the search for more sustainable organizations, as well as deal
with the challenges of managing organizations in the context of
increased social problems, degradation of natural resources, loss
of biodiversity, and climate change. This book was published as a
special issue of the International Journal of Sustainable
Development & World Ecology.

Case-based reasoning is a methodology with a long tradition in
artificial intelligence that brings together reasoning and machine
learning techniques to solve problems based on past experiences or
cases. Given a problem to be solved, reasoning involves the use of
methods to retrieve similar past cases in order to reuse their
solution for the problem at hand. Once the problem has been solved,
learning methods can be applied to improve the knowledge based on
past experiences. In spite of being a broad methodology applied in
industry and services, case-based reasoning has often been
forgotten in both artificial intelligence and machine learning
books. The aim of this book is to present a concise introduction to
case-based reasoning providing the essential building blocks for
the design of case-based reasoning systems, as well as to bring
together the main research lines in this field to encourage
students to solve current CBR challenges.

and selected from 49 submissions and are presented with 4 plenary
talks. The papers are organized in topical sections on aggregation

This classic masterpiece on the subject of comparative religion
explores the essential elements and teachings of the world's
predominant faiths, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism,
Taoism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, and the native traditions of
the Americas, Australia, Africa, and Oceania. Emphasizing the inner
rather than institutional dimensions of these religions, this
survey devotes special attention to Zen and Tibetan Buddhism,
Sufism, and the teachings of Jesus. The unique appeal and gifts of
each of the traditions and their hold on the human heart and
imagination are conveyed with wisdom and respect. Con un estilo
claro, ameno, y didactico, esta obra clasica desgrana todas las
grandes tradiciones de sabiduria de la humanidad, incluyendo
hinduismo, budismo, confucianismo, taoismo, judaismo, cristianismo,
distintas doctrinas.
