The Watch (2012)
Ben Stiller directs and stars in this reimagining of the classic James Thurber story. Walter Mitty (Stiller) escapes his mundane and lonely life by disappearing inside his own head, where his daydreams consist of heroic acts and fantastic adventures in which he always gets the girl (Kristen Wiig). When his job at Life magazine is endangered by ongoing changes in technology, Walter takes it upon himself to save his career by embarking on a real-life adventure beyond even his own imagination...
A British boy living in Shanghai becomes separated from his parents when Japan invades China at the outset of World War II. The film, based on J.G. Ballard's autobiographical novel, traces his progress through prison camp life and his steely determination to survive. The score is by John Williams.
Male Nurse Greg Focker is poised to propose to his girlfriend Pam during a weekend stay at her parents' home. But here's the catch, he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy ex-CIA father takes an immediate dislike to her less-than-truthful beau. Greg's quest for approval gets seriously sidetracked as Murphy's Law takes over and a hilarious string of mishaps turns him into a master of disaster and a total pariah in the eyes of the entire family... all except for his shell-shocked girlfriend, who can't believe she still loves her one-man wrecking crew.
Oscar-nominated comedy about an oddball New York family of former child geniuses from writer-director Wes Anderson. Before their marriage floundered, Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston) succeeded in raising three prodigies: business supremo Chas (Ben Stiller), prize-winning playwright Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) and tennis champion Richie (Luke Wilson). Now, after years of separation, the children grown-up and the memory of their prodigy faded, Royal returns to his family and tries to make amends. However, with Royal's history of lies and betrayal, his offspring - who all now have problems of their own - are going to have trouble welcoming him back.
Darkly comic indie drama directed by Noah Baumbach. Ben Stiller stars as Roger Greenberg, a 40-year-old man with little direction or purpose in his life. After suffering an emotional breakdown, he goes to house-sit for his brother in their hometown in California with the express intention of 'doing nothing for a while'. There he makes a few painfully self-conscious attempts to reconnect with old friends and lovers, and falls into a relationship of sorts with his brother's 26-year-old personal assistant, Florence (Greta Gerwig).
Ben Stiller writes, directs and stars in this film-within-a-film action comedy. During the filming of a big-budget Vietnam epic, the self-absorbed stars signed up to the project behave unreasonably, resulting in a four million dollar explosion going off with no cameras shooting - and rendering the whole project unviable before it has even begun. The director of the film, Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan), decides to leave the spoiled actors in the middle of the jungle - and, in an attempt to salvage some footage from the wreckage of the doomed project, installs hidden cameras to follow their escape. The actors are left with only a map and a scene listing to guide them to the helicopter waiting at the end of the jungle. Along the way they encounter a series of obstacles including land mines and an international heroin-dealing ring. The ensemble cast includes Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Nick Nolte, Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.
For their tenth anniversary, the design studio Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors presents projects that blend the spirit of our collective history with a modernist edge. Roman and Williams’s style honors craftsmanship, the use of natural materials, and the overlooked in unexpected ways. Their understated, glamorous sensibility is imparted in Manhattan’s Ace Hotel interiors and restaurant The Breslin, The Standard Hotel, with its iconic Boom Boom Room, and the Royalton lobby. For such popular restaurants as The Dutch, the duo created environments with textured backdrops that reference a rich past with a contemporary sensibility. Their innovative work has captured the attention of firms such as Facebook—they recently completed its campus food hall—and their residences for celebrities such as Ben Stiller and Gwyneth Paltrow are equally imaginative. This book surveys the firm’s prestige projects, presented with Alesch’s architectural hand drawings and sketches and detailed views. Also included is their loft and Montauk home, which serve as design laboratories, and a collection of furnishings and fixtures.
When Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), former winner of the coveted Male Model of the Year award, goes to work for up-and-coming fashion designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell), he has no idea that he is walking into a complex web of political intrigue and murder. Mugatu is planning the assassination of a Malaysian politician whose campaign against exploitative child labour looks set to cut into the fashion industry's proft margin, and he sees Zoolander as the perfect person to pull the trigger. The designer brainwashes the model so that he will perform the assassination as soon as he hears the Frankie Goes to Hollywood classic 'Relax', and then sits back and waits for the politician's scheduled appearance at an imminent New York fashion event. Will Derek realise the threat he poses in time to prevent the murder? Or will the cruel and ruthless fashion industry triumph once again?

Third film in the popular CGI-animated children's series following the adventures of a number of New York zoo animals that are deemed unruly and released into the wild. Though their previous attempt to escape Madagascar and make it back to New York failed, Alex the Lion (voice of Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock) and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) remain determined to return to the Big Apple. When the trio find themselves in Monte Carlo on the run from European animal control, they decide that their best chance of making it home is to join a travelling circus as performing animals. Though the circus, led by a world-weary tiger, appears to be on a downward slide, the zest of Alex, Marty and Melman quickly helps to reinvigorate it. But will the circus finally help them make it back to New York?
Comedy double. 'Anchorman - The Legend of Ron Burgundy' (2004) is directed by former 'Saturday Night Live' writer Adam McKay. Will Ferrell stars as Ron Burgundy, a top-rated 1970s San Diego anchorman who believes women have a place in the newsroom - so long as they stick to covering fashion shows or late-breaking cooking news, that is. So when Ron is told he'll be working with a bright young newswoman (Christina Applegate) who's beautiful, ambitious, and intelligent enough to be more than eye candy, it's not just a clash of two TV-people with really great hair: it's war... Ben Stiller directs 'Zoolander' (2001) and stars as Derek Zoolander, former winner of the coveted Male Model of the Year award. When Derek goes to work for up-and-coming fashion designer Mugatu (Will Ferrell), he has no idea that he is walking into a complex web of political intrigue and murder. Collection of three Wes Anderson films. In 'The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou' (2004) internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) and his crew, Team Zissou, set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, possibly non-existant Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou's partner during the documentary filming of their last adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot who may or may not be Zissou's son (Owen Wilson), a beautiful journalist (Cate Blanchett) assigned to write a profile of Zissou, and Zissou's estranged wife and co-producer Eleanor (Anjelica Huston). They face overwhelming complications including pirates, kidnapping and bankruptcy. Narrated by Alec Baldwin, 'The Royal Tenenbaums' (2001) is about an oddball New York family of former child geniuses. Before their marriage floundered, Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) and his wife Etheline (Angelica Huston) succeeded in raising three prodigies: business supremo Chas (Ben Stiller), prize-winning playwright Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) and tennis champion Richie (Luke Wilson). However, with Royal's history of lies and betrayal, his offspring - who all now have problems of their own - are going to have trouble welcoming him back. In 'Rushmore' (1998) Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman) is a 10th grade pupil at Rushmore Academy. When not daydreaming, Max pours all of his energy into his beloved extra-curricular activities, often to the neglect of his studies. His determination to make a name for himself is sent into overdrive by the arrival of pretty new teacher Miss Cross (Olivia Williams). Outside of school, Max is taken under the wing of middle-aged steel tycoon Herman Blume (Murray), whose sons are boorish thugs. Things begin to go awry when Mr Blume falls for Miss Cross himself, and Max becomes unhinged with jealousy. His schemes to win the affections of his teacher grow ever more extreme, while his academic life threatens to collapse around him.
Triple bill of the comedy franchise starring Ben Stiller. In 'Night at the Museum' (2006), Larry Daley (Stiller) is a kind-hearted dreamer who always knew that he was destined for greatness. In need of money he takes a job as a lowly graveyard-shift security guard at the Museum of Natural History in order to provide a more stable life for his ten-year-old son. On his first night on the job, however, he finds that the guardianship of the museum is far from stable. At nightfall an Egyptian spell brings the artefacts and wax figures to life. With Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher) charging through the hallways, miniature Romans and cowboys embroiled in a deadly feud, and a two-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex nagging to play fetch, Larry turns to a wax replica of President Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams) for a little advice on keeping things intact. In 'Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsmonian' (2009), Larry receives news that the Museum of Natural History is to be closed for renovations, and the exhibits moved into federal storage at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, where the collection includes artefacts associated with many of the great figures of American history including Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), General Custer (Bill Hader) and Al Capone (Jon Bernthal). Larry must infiltrate the museum's tight security to rescue Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and Octavius (Steve Coogan), who have been shipped there by mistake. In 'Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb' (2014), as the magic of the Tablet of Ahkmenrah begins to fade, Larry travels around the world in order to reunite members of his museum crew including Roosevelt, Jedediah and Octavius and, of course, Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) to try to save the magic before it's too late.
