Building on the very strong reading skills acquired in Level 1,
Piano ABC's Level 2 adds new notes in the same very
easy-to-understand format. Again, pieces have been composed to
excite the student's aesthetic imagination, and teachers will find
that students often work ahead reading new notes and learning new
pieces on their own. Physical and intellectual exercises support
more advanced rhythmic learning. Students play in Simple Meters of
2, 3, 4, and 5 and in the Compound Meter 6/8. Intervals of fifths
and sixths are studied; major pentascales are analyzed, written,
and played; and frequent check-ups of note reading, intervals, and
rhythm ensure that students will continue to consolidate old skills
as they acquire new ones. The pace is faster than many current
methods, but it works just fine because students' reading is not
interrupted and confused by sudden moves to unfamiliar places. New
notes are added logically to a growing range of those learned
already. To learn more or to choose other binding options (coil or

This beginning piano method for beginners of all ages uses an
easily understood innovative and logical approach to note reading
and rhythm. Beginning students who start lessons with Piano ABC's
learn quickly to read with confidence, so they generally accomplish
in one book that which might require multiple books from many
current traditional methods. Subsequent levels of Piano ABC's
continue to facilitate a faster pace for understanding musical
concepts and for well-coordinated playing when compared to the
pacing of many of the most popular beginning piano methods.
Learning to read notes (letter names) is very easy. Rhythmic
instruction integrates physical and intellectual activities as well
as the writing of easily understood proportional graphic symbols to
help students grasp metrical and rhythmic concepts. Attractive
pieces in diverse styles and modes have been composed with the
student in mind; and the engaging illustrations by Francois Arnaud
will stimulate students' artistic imaginations. The several
"streams" of music theory and pedagogical categories introduced in
Piano ABC's Level One are continued and expanded in other levels
throughout. This is a unique, patented beginner piano method
endorsed by nationally-acclaimed piano pedagogues. If you are
teaching Piano ABC's Level One for the first time, be sure to check
out "Lesson Plans for Beginning Piano Teachers of Beginning
Pianists" in which the author provides a wealth of information to
facilitate the teaching of beginner piano students. Even
experienced teachers have lauded "Lesson Plans" as a very helpful
resource to enhance their own professional expertise. For more
