***This edition is a revision of the first. I rewrote it with the
mindset of making it an easier read by cutting out a lot of the
busyness of the first edition. My Story is better detailed,
chronologically smoother and does not have the unnecessary topical
breaks. The optional questions have been eliminated. I believe the
reader is already coming to the text with their own questions.
Again, I believe this edition will be more valuable because of the
changes that were made and it takes only about 1 1/2 hours to
read.*** This work was written out of genuine concern. It is
intended to give hope, insight, support and healing to those who
have been touched by suicide. My main goal is to aid in suicide
prevention through enabling the reader to identify, help and save
both those who are contemplating suicide and those who are likely
to ponder it in the future. I believe that I have an insider's view
of this devastating darkness called suicide. I have battled with it
for over 20 years. My compelling desire is to help, support, and
create a healing environment for those who have been destroyed by
suicide and to aid in prevention whenever possible. In order to get
the most out of this book, it's important to read it with an open
mind. It has been written from my worldview and personal beliefs.
These beliefs have kept me alive over the years and they continue
to support me on a daily basis. A compilation of stories will be
used throughout this book to help us understand this dark act we
call suicide. It is my hope that you will find it both interesting
and encouraging. I do not pretend to fully understand this enormous
subject and this book is not intended to be all inclusive. My
intent is to show there is hope for the hopeless, light for those
in darkness, truth for those being lied to, and forgiveness for the
guilt-laden. For more information go to the author's website:

This book explains essential ancient philosophies of India in a
simplified form. Yogi Shanti Desai, a master of yoga, distills the
essence of Vedanta and Sankhya philosophy, and explains esoteric
philosophical concepts in and modern manner. The book is so dense
with knowledge, you may find yourself rereading areas and pondering
their meaning to get full disclosure. Seeing these ancient
philosophies through the eyes of modern day yoga master will give
them a new dimension and make them more accessible to spiritual
seekers.
Spirit beings are fascinating. They can be wicked, good, of dual
nature, or non-existent. They announce, accompany, heal, injure,
sway, charm, fight, tempt and judge. They can bring us closer to,
or distract us from, God. In this volume, the particular focus is
on how angelic and demonic concepts are overtly expressed, or are
more obliquely reflected, in different religions. Specific themes
covered include spiritual warfare, spirit beings and the origin of
evil, angelic and demonic roles, human suffering and spiritual
powers, use of talismans, sacred texts, and the practical
outworking of beliefs. The contributors - all Christian scholars -
mostly write as detached observers of the religious traditions they
are describing. Nevertheless, they do not shy away from taking a
stand on controversial issues. Here you will find a great diversity
of thought, some striking thematic similarities, and a fascinating
view of worlds far removed from our usual experience. The
contributors are Allen Anderson, Andy Bannister, Ruth Bradby, Keith
Ferdinando, Theodore Gabriel, Chris Gnanakan, Willam Kay, Bill
Musk, Martin Parsons, Chris Partridge, Peter Riddell, Nigel
Scotland and Amy Summers-Minette.
