Bill Marks escorts the reader along his thirty year journey as a
trial lawyer to reveal "The Other Side of the Law." This is the
human side that is rarely seen or disclosed, where gut-wrenching
decisions are made by lawyers, clients and judges as they work
their way through the legal system. Each of the thirty chapters
represents a case which brings insight of gripping and agonizing
decisions that must be made, many of which have life changing
consequences. Trial lawyers ask questions, search for facts, and
seek honest answers in their search for the truth as they strive to
obtain justice, equity and fairness for their clients. Marks goes
beyond the legal consequences in describing cases where his heart
and the heart of his clients were touched by the legal system. Bill
Marks received a B. S. degree from the College of Business and a
Juris Doctor degree from the College of Law at the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee; an M. A. degree from Asbury
Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. He was granted a law
license by The Tennessee Supreme Court in 1967 and is a former
Assistant District Attorney General for the State of Tennessee.
