As a child, Bill Graham fled Europe to escape Hitler's armies. He
grew up on the streets of New York and in the dining rooms of the
hotels in the Catskills. After failing as an actor, he headed for
San Francisco right before the Summer of Love where he founded the
Fillmore and launched the rock icons of a generation--Janis Joplin,
Otis Redding, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, the Grateful Dead, and
more. He was a complex, caring, compassionate whirlwind of energy
who rock stars either loved--or hated. In his own voice and those of
the people who knew him--Jerry Garcia, Keith Richards, Grace Slick,
Ken Kesey, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, and Carlos Santana--we
hear Bill's story as well as the scoop on the major events in rock
for more than three decades, ending with his tragic death in a 1991
helicopter crash. Gritty, moving, funny, and always fascinating,
"Bill Graham Presents" is the inside story of the explosive and
unforgettable man who created the business of rock.

When an expensively dressed, well-spoken Englishman walks into the shabby Dundee
office of Allan Linton & Associates, Inquiry Agents, it’s the promise of a hefty fee that
convinces Allan to take the case on. The Englishman wants Allan to trace a missing
person. The only clue is a photo of a young woman in school uniform – and the name
Tina Lamont.Trouble is, who knows if that’s her real name or even if she’s from Dundee.
As Allan and Niddrie, his only Associate – ex-army and with skills that don’t quite match
his claim of being in the Pay Corps – get the investigation underway, they find no trace of
the girl anywhere. But when a dead body turns up, the two men realise they’re not the
only ones on Tina’s trail. The news that serious London criminals are also hunting the
girl ratchets events up to a deeply disturbing level – and that’s before Dundee’s biggest
drugs dealer gets involved.
Story One A Canadian crime story based on facts. A fast moving
story of a Canadian Mounted Police Special Unit agent Jerry Scott,
who back in the early 60's was given an assignment in a small town
in Ontario called Midland. This began as more or less a routine
investigation into possible insurance fraud by certain employers in
the area. However during his enquiries he encounters exploitation
of workers, corruption and the murder of at least one worker. The
local work force was mostly made up of workers of mixed French and
Indian origins who mostly resided in a neighbouring town called
Penetang. The investigation then leads him into International Arms
and Drug deals, the contraband being flown into Canada by seaplane
from the USA by an organised crime syndicate operating out of
Montreal. The organisation had strong connections with terrorist
groups throughout the world but most of the contraband ended up in
the hands of the Irish Republican Army and the Ulster defence
Force. Story Two A Scottish crime story based on facts. A Scottish
immigrant and known paedophile living in Canada, who was suspected
of having been involved in a burglary in Toronto where an elderly
lady died. Escaped arrest and returned to his hometown Hawick,
situated in the Scottish Borders. The Canadian Mounted Police
special investigation unit were determined to bring him back onto
Canadian soil by any means possible within or out with the Scottish
or International legal processes. Their top agent Jerry Scott was
sent over to Scotland to complete this task. Jerry, believing that
he may have relatives living in the Scottish Border country hoped
to Uncover any possible clues to any family background whilst he
was in Scotland. However he soon learned that the Scottish Border
area held many surprises and unexpected answers to his inquires.
Did he get his man, and who was he
This three part story moves through my life experience from aged
13. At that time following my mothers death I fell out with the
family and quickly developed a blind hatred of all my family and
all authority. Part 1. ( The Adventurer) This part tells the story
from my leaving the family home a mixed up full of hatred boy going
to sea where my unbelievable life took me to war torn Cuba. From
there I travelled to the wilds of Alaska to work on the Early
warning system in a work force of hard men, where murder and
crippling beatings were a daily occurrence. I then moved to Ontario
to live on an Indian reservation for a period before entering the
world of easy money, selling life insurance. Followed by a time in
commercial radio prior to being deported back to the UK. Part 2.
(The Criminal) Following my being deported my life as a criminal
began, to my eventually being described in the national press as
Scotland's Top Conman. (Not True) Following this interesting and
great learning experience, I was offered a job as an International
business trouble-shooter working for a well known QC and chairman
of numerous public companies, introducing me into the world of
finance and politics . (Back with the criminals) He contracted me
out to top politicians and business gurus. (I did their dirty work)
This included people such as Robert Maxwell, Margaret Thatcher, and
many others including Charley Haughey the Irish premier. To the
regret of many I found them out. (Where is the Maxwell pension
fund?) I know Part 3. (The Honest Family Man) Following this period
I then met the woman who was destined to take me under her wing and
completely turn my crazy world around and to finally find peace and
contentment in a family life, with my lovely wife Jean, my daughter
Katrina, and of course our wee Yorkie Pepe.
Synopsis Roy Chalmers a recently retired professional criminal was
relaxing in the early evening as he sat on the deck of his launch
moored at the marina in Mentone in the South of France. As what had
been normal for him over the past few months he was much the worst
of the wine and beer he had been consuming for most of the day. And
also as was the norm, his mind was forever on Margo and the guilt
that now possessed him, he knew that he and only he was the cause
of the accident a few months earlier that had left his girlfriend
Margo lying in a coma in the local hospital. His thoughts were
disturbed as Thomas the commodore of the marina a now retired Hong
Kong police inspector came aboard to join him for a drink. In the
conversation that followed he suggested to Roy that the excessive
drinking and gambling that he was doing was not helping him or
Margo and that as he had obviously lost the place, his advice was
that Roy should go back over his life and find out where he had
gone wrong. Roy spent the rest of the evening doing just that which
took him back over the years to his most recent lucrative activity
in Scotland and through this how Margo had come into his life. He
had come out of prison after finishing a three year term and had
contacted an old friend and partner in crime Ken Anderson who as it
turned out was now deeply involved with an International Drugs
operation run by another old acquaintance Don Hay a well known
underworld figure and at that time unknown to him also had an
involvement with an Irish Republican Unit and it was because of his
meeting up with Ken that Don had paid Margo a working prostitute to
get close to him and report all his and Ken's movements. Don at the
orders of his superiors decides to replace Ken and he eventually
offered Roy a lucrative place within the organisation loaning him a
large amount of cash to get himself settled. Roy then found himself
torn between his loyalties to Ken and his natural self-interest.
Having built up a relationship with Margo and her confessing her
involvement with Don and to her being a call girl, he and Margo
then decide that as they had a great deal in common, they would go
away together and not get involved with Don and the drugs.
Unfortunately unknown to them Roy had been under surveillance by
the National Drugs Squad from the day he had come out of prison and
met up with Ken. The pair planned their disappearance well but
within a day the drugs squad visited them in their hotel room and
Roy was simply blackmailed into returning to Edinburgh and
accepting the position he had been offered by Don and was now
expected to become a police informer. Roy now had to play the
dangerous game of being a friend to all the players yet protecting
him and Margo at all times. Did he succeed?

professional criminal and leader of an exclusive team of
professional con-men is forced to sell his environment polluting
chemicals business. The national press and the Scottish police are
investigating his pay-offs to government and lochs authority buyers
and also his involvement in the dumping of hazardous waste beneath
buildings under construction in the Edinburgh area and around
Scotland. The following day he meets up with the other members of
the club. (The Notorious Barn Club.) As each member is encountered
in this story it goes back in time through their history and the
various swindles and cons. Vic advises them of his decision to sell
up and go into hiding. The group decide to disband but first they
agree to plan and carry out one large final con against the
establishment. This was the removal of valuable paintings belonging
to the Scottish Art Gallery in Edinburgh. The job goes well and the
group separate for a period, then again get together when they are
asked by some European politicians to remove valuable pieces of
military items originally stolen by the Germans during WW 2, from a
Scottish army regiment headquarters in Scotland. This goes well and
they disband but then two of the members decide to go into the
business of supplying babies to infertile couples. Vic settles in
Mentone in the South of France.
Forgotten Cargo./ Edward's Loot This story is an alternative but
possible true account of the reported sinking in 1942 of the ship
S.S. Politician. The ship was loaded with cargo destined for
Barbados this was the personal possessions of Edward, Prince of
Wales and Mrs. Simpson. The original story was written by Sir
Compton McKenzie who at that time was a member of the secret
service. His book Whisky Galore, later a film of the same name, may
have been a cover up. The Secret Service did in fact scupper the
ship and many artefacts and valuables were unloaded from the ship
prior to it being sunk, being part of the Windsor Protocol they
were secretly stored in the crypt of a house on a large estate near
Oban in Scotland and they were generally forgotten about until 2002
when they came to light and the establishment in London decided
that they should be moved South. (This could be fiction ) (Just
covering my back) Word of this leaked out to a group of Scottish
nationalist politicians who decided to employ a well known figure
in the Scottish criminal fraternity to put together a team of
international mercenaries to intercept the treasure and keep it in
Scotland. The violent outcome was reported as a large drugs bust of
International Drug smugglers?
