The accruement of crises over the last two decades, with their
particular manifestations in the European context, has evoked the
feeling of living in exceptional times, as captured in the
recurrent claim that we live in the "age of anxiety." The main aim
of this collection is to analyse, from a multidisciplinary
perspective, the causes and consequences of the current dominance
of the discourse of fear, anxiety, and crisis through the
experience of distinct and often interdependent moral panics in
twenty-first-century Europe. With its multidisciplinary approach,
this volume sheds light on the need to view the interrelationship
between different crises and their associated affects as crucial in
attaining a more nuanced understanding of the aetiology and effects
of the current "age of anxiety." This multidisciplinary scrutiny of
the interrelationship of twenty-first-century fears, anxiety and
crises signals an original engagement with these complex phenomena
in order to make their emergence and profound effects on
contemporary society more comprehensible. The timeliness of the
thematic focus and the rigorous in-depth analyses make this
collection relevant to students and academics within the fields of
sociology, literary and cultural studies, political science and
anthropology, as well as to those in European studies and global
studies.
Since the end of the nineteenth century, Ireland has witnessed a
profound reconfiguration of its cultural, political, constitutional
and religious identities, resulting in an unparalleled questioning
of the dominant discourses and narratives that have seemingly
defined the nation. The essays in this collection examine the ways
in which established Irish socio-cultural structures of authority
and their constructs of collective identity have been challenged
within literary and cultural discourses of the twentieth and
twenty-first centuries. Every challenge to the purported wisdom of
these authority structures adds a new facet to the complexity of
Irish national identity and contributes to the continuous evolution
of the 'New Ireland', a phrase often used to signify the momentous
transformations of the country in times of change.
Some of Billy Grays stories are funny, some sad but all come to the
moral conclusion that good ( God) is triumphant over evil. Some
stories are taken from his courtroom experiences in a somber
setting but with a comical twist. Others you will see inside of a
penitentiary as never before seen and still others, men called of
God to their profession whether it be preaching or coaching.

This is the story of Billy Gray. A gifted privileged person whose
priorities became estranged from the spirit filled world and
entangled in the affairs of man. But God, the ever patient King,
continued to abide within, until a heart was broken and restored to
fellowship. At this point God became a light unto his feet. First
evangelizing in prison and then being led to a world wide ministry
that includes 5 continents. There is victory in Jesus. Billy Gray
has experienced most every venue of life. Raised in a Christian
home, but given privileges exceeding the families' resources. From
dinning with the elite of Washington in private rooms in the
Capital to a prison cell, known by a number rather than a name. In
prison he staggered not at the promises of God, and for the past 28
years has evangelized in the slums of Calcutta to pristine edifices
of North America.
