When L.A. Private Investigator Ronny Baca takes the case to find
A-List actor Bob Landman, he thinks, How hard can it be? The answer
is: Very. Ronny and his partner, Hondo Wells immediately have
confrontations with the Russian Mafia. An odd trail of clues leads
them to a famous Russian painter, undocumented aliens, Indian
caves, and golden artifacts, all of which get them closer to
Landman and deeper into trouble. Bodies start appearing and the
pressure increases, but they push ahead because Ronny knows that
Landman's life balances on the edge of a razor - and time is
running out.

A sadistic killer roams the shadow world of undocumented aliens,
and the first glimpse law enforcement has of him is when tough,
determined female Border Patrol Agent Hunter Kincaid watches
through binoculars as the killer shoots his own partner for being
too slow, then crosses the Rio Grande into Mexico. Two thousand
miles away, South Florida Homicide Detectives John Quick and
Randall Ishtee investigate the machete murder of an undocumented
female, and a slender thread of evidence stretches all the way to
West Texas. John and Randall join forces with Hunter to track down
the monster. What they don't know is that the killer is aware, and
has turned focus on them, like a Great White speeding toward an
unsuspecting swimmer.
-BOOK TWO IN THE HUNTER KINCAID SERIES- Ten days before the start
of her civil trial for shooting drug smuggler Julian "El Lobo"
Garcia, the U.S. Government assigns Border Patrol Agent Hunter
Kincaid a quirky new defense attorney fresh from rehab--for an
amphetamine addiction, no less. She's also on the outs with her
former lover, legendary Texas Sheriff Wayne Rockman, and that's
causing problems at work. To top things off, Hunter's brother will
be the prosecuting attorney. The last thing she needs is something
more on her plate. But when she apprehends and returns to Mexico a
remarkable fourteen-year-old orphan named Anda Tumecas, priorities
change. Hunter crosses the border into Mexico to check on Anda, and
learns the orphan is running for her life. A gang of cutthroats are
on her trail, intent on killing her before she can talk about the
criminal operations she witnessed. Hunter encounters a handsome,
charming thief in Mexico named Bobby Mata, who, on a whim, decides
to help her find Anda. Hunter returns to Texas and attends her
trial, but bad news comes from OJ, and there are bodies involved.
Hunter makes a fateful decision and leaves in the middle of the
trial, racing to Presidio where she crosses into Mexico to find
Anda. As Anda weaves a desperate trail to throw off her pursuers,
she leads them - and Hunter - to the most dangerous place on the
border. It is a lawless Mexican village of raw adobe buildings and
dirt streets, whose residents are Chihuahua's worst criminals and
sociopaths. The gun and knife are judge and jury here. It is the
place called Outlaw Road.
