This book summarizes the advanced manufacturing technology of
original innovations in hot stamping of lightweight car body. A
detailed description of the technical system and basic knowledge of
sheet metal forming is given, which helps readers quickly
understand the relevant knowledge in the field. Emphasis has been
placed on the independently developed hot stamping process and
equipment, which help describe the theoretical and experimental
research on key problems involving stress field, thermal field and
phase transformation field in hot stamping process. Also, a
description of the formability at elevated temperature and the
numerical simulation algorithms for high strength steel hot
stamping is given in combination with the experiments. Finally, the
book presents some application cases of hot stamping technology
such as the lightweight car body design using hot stamping
components and gradient hardness components, and the cooling design
of the stamping tool. This book is intended for researchers,
engineers and graduate students in vehicle engineering, mechanical
engineering, especially in the field of advanced manufacturing
technology. The book also provides a useful reference for other new
technology related temperature and phase transformation, such as
aluminum-magnesium alloy hot stamping.

Neural Engineering, 2nd Edition, contains reviews and discussions
of contemporary and relevant topics by leading investigators in the
field. It is intended to serve as a textbook at the graduate and
advanced undergraduate level in a bioengineering curriculum. This
principles and applications approach to neural engineering is
essential reading for all academics, biomedical engineers,
neuroscientists, neurophysiologists, and industry professionals
wishing to take advantage of the latest and greatest in this
emerging field.
Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of mortality and
morbidity in the Western Hemisphere. While significant progress has
been made in treating a major sub-category of cardiac disease,
arrhythmias, significant unmet needs remain. In particular, every
day, thousands of patients die because of arrhythmias in the US
alone, and atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia
affecting millions of patients in the US alone at a given time.
Therefore, there is a public need to continue to develop new and
better therapies for arrhythmias. Accordingly, an ever increasing
number of biomedical, pharmaceutical, and medical personnel is
interested in studying various aspects of arrhythmias at a basic,
translational, and applied level, both in industry (ie Biotech,
Pharmaceutical and device), and in academia. Not only has our
overall understanding of molecular bases of disease dramatically
increased, but so has the number of available and emerging
molecular, pharmacological or device treatment based therapies.
This practical, state-of-the art handbook will summarize and review
key research methods and protocols, their advantages and pitfalls,
with a focus on practical implementation, and collaborative
cross-functional research. The volume will include visual and
easy-to-use graphics, bulleted summaries, boxed summary paragraphs,
links to reference websites, equipment manufacturers where
appropriate, photographs of typical experimental setups and so
forth, to keep this book very focused on practical methods and
implementation, and yet, provide enough theory that the principles
are clearly understood and can be easily applied.
Over the past several decades, much progress has been made in
understanding the mechanisms of electrical activity in biological
tissues and systems, and for developing non-invasive functional
imaging technologies to aid clinical diagnosis of dysfunction in
the human body. The book will provide full basic coverage of the
fundamentals of modeling of electrical activity in various human
organs, such as heart and brain. It will include details of
bioelectromagnetic measurements and source imaging technologies, as
well as biomedical applications. The book will review the latest
trends in the field and comment on the future direction in this
fast developing line of research.
