Academy Award-nominated animated feature following the attempts of
a pirate captain to outdo his rivals, featuring the vocal talents
of Hugh Grant, David Tennant and Salma Hayek. Pirate Captain (voice
of Grant) is determined to win the coveted 'Pirate of the Year'

There are ongoing debates on the concepts surrounding the roles of
Indigenous people in transforming the entrepreneurial landscape to
promote socio-economic development. Arguably, the culture and ways
of our lives, in the context of entrepreneurship, have a role in
influencing social economic development. The ideals between the
entrepreneurial practice of Indigenous people and their culture are
somewhat commensal towards sustainable growth and development. The
practice of Indigenous and cultural entrepreneurship is embedded in
historical findings. Context, Policy, and Practices in Indigenous
and Cultural Entrepreneurship provides insights into the policy,
culture, and practice that influence the impact of local and
Indigenous entrepreneurs within communities which transcends to
socio-economic development. This is critical as the knowledge
gained from our entrepreneurial diversity can provide a platform to
reduce social ills as a result of unemployment and give a sense of
belonging within the social context. Covering key topics such as
government policy, entrepreneurial education, information
technology, and trade, this premier reference source is ideal for
policymakers, entrepreneurs, business owners, managers, scholars,
researchers, academicians, instructors, and students.
An outstanding YA novel of family love, loss, and life lived between
two cultures, by an astonishing, super-stylish new voice.
'I'm going to tell you exactly how everything happened. Baba always
says, Mati mwana'ngu, I love a good story but I don't have time for a
long one, so make it short.'
When Mati and her two siblings travel from London to Zimbabwe with
their father, they are forced to confront the knotty family dynamics
caused by the loss of their mother. Along for the trip is Meticais, a
fabulously attired gender-neutral spirit - or ghost? or imaginary
friend? - who only Mati can see and talk to.
Guided by Meticais's enigmatic advice and wisdom, Mati must come to
terms with her grief and with the difficulty of a life lived between
two cultures, while her family learn to forge their way in a world
without their monumental mother. This is distinctive, stylish, powerful
writing by a vital new voice.
Brian Blessed has a lifelong love of animals and over the years has
rescued cats and dogs, horses and ponies, and even a very
ungrateful fighting cock. All were characters in their own right,
such as Jessie, a dog left languishing for a year at the local
RSPCA, who ruled the entire household with a rod of iron, when she
wasn't out harassing the local vicar. Then there was Bodger, an
abused terrier cross breed, who was nursed back to health by Brian
and his wife, and Peppone, a stray cat and notorious thief, who was
responsible for a crime epidemic in the Bagshot area. Most of all
there was Misty, a soul mate and the first Jack Russell Brian met
who didn't take an instant dislike to him. Over the years Brian has
encountered more exotic animals too, from Kali the black panther
who had free run of his kitchen and the gentle boa constrictor Bo
Bo who went for walks with him in Richmond Park to the female
gorillas who found him incredibly attractive. Written with all of
Brian's ebullience, The Panther in My Kitchen is a laugh-out-loud,
life-affirming book about the joy animals bring and why we should
care for them.
This book presents the state-of-the-art research in the field of
transdisciplinary design, and highlights the challenges and issues
from the perspectives of processes, people and products in
transdisciplinary product design and development. It collates
research papers resulting from the Workshop on the Future of
Transdisciplinary Design written by leading researchers in
engineering design and product development. The papers provide
examples and case studies from existing practices, as well as
future perspectives towards the development of the complex and
ever-changing domains of engineering design and product
development, with an emphasis on transdisciplinarity.
The Future of Transdisciplinary Design contains a selection of
research papers in the following areas related to transdisciplinary
design:
-Approaches
-Tools and methods
-Management and collaboration
-Distributed and culturally diverse teams
-Modeling, representing and managing information
-Education and training
A transdisciplinary design process is a design process involving
the integrated use of knowledge, methods and tools from various
disciplines. Design of product/services increasingly requires
cross-disciplinary collaboration, and integration of specialized
knowledge from different disciplines is necessary to tackle complex
and large scale design problems. This book provides a valuable
reference to researchers, professionals and PhD students in the
field of engineering design and product development. Design
practitioners and those involved in product development in the
manufacturing industry will equally benefit from the research
presented as well as future advances in this research.
"
In my early years of life, I grew up in an abusive home. My father
was a good man to me when he was not drunk, but when he got drunk
he would become someone else. I will describe him as Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde. He did not abuse me but he abused my mother numerous
times. My mother finally decided to leave him and she took my
youngest brother, sister and I and we all moved to Miami, Florida
in 1973. I did not understand at the time why she made the move but
as I got older, I understood. Many things happened in my family
during our life here in Miami. As I got older, I began to seek God
for answers to many of my questions about why bad things happened
to my family. It was many years later when I saw my father again,
but he was a different man. I knew he was different - not because
of something he did but because of something that was allowed to
happen to him.
The emergence of the internet and developments in educational
software have changed the way teachers teach and the way students
learn. There has been a substantial increase in the quantity,
quality, and diversity of educational material available over the
internet or through the use of satellite video and audio linkups.
These technologies have allowed new learning methods and techniques
to reach a greater geographic region and have contributed to the
global transformation of education. The Roles of Technology and
Globalization in Educational Transformation is an essential
academic book that provides comprehensive research on issues
concerning the roles of technology and globalization in educational
transformation and the challenges of teaching and learning in
various cultural settings and how they were resolved. It will
support educational organizations that wish to find, create, or
adapt technology for use in their institution. Featuring a broad
range of topics such as public administration, educational
technology, and higher education, this book is essential for
teachers, deans, principals, school administrators, IT specialists,
curriculum developers, instructional designers, higher education
staff, academicians, policymakers, researchers, and students.
