This book takes a close look at how the sport industry has been
impacted by the global Coronavirus pandemic, as entire seasons have
been cut short, events have been cancelled, athletes have been
infected, and sport studies programs have moved online. Crucially,
the book also asks how the industry might move forward. With
contributions from sport studies researchers across the world, the
book offers commentaries, cases, and informed analysis across a
wide range of topics and practical areas within sport business and
management, from crisis communication and marketing to event
management and finance. While Covid-19 will inevitably cast a long
shadow over sport for years to come, and although the situation is
fast-evolving and the future is uncertain, this book offers some
important early perspectives and reflections that will inform
debate and influence policy and practice. A timely addition to the
body of knowledge regarding the pandemic, this is an important
resource for researchers, students, practitioners, the media,
policy-makers, and anybody who cares about the future of sport.
This book provides a systematical and comprehensive description of
some facets of modeling, designing, analyzing and exploring the
control allocation and fault-tolerant control problems for
over-actuated spacecraft attitude control system under actuator
failures, system uncertainties and disturbances. The book intends
to provide a unified platform for understanding and applicability
of the fault-tolerant attitude control and control allocation for
different purposes in aerospace engineering and some related
fields. And it is particularly suited for readers who are
interested to learn solutions in spacecraft attitude control system
design and related engineering applications.
Two typical hybrid laser surface modification processes, i.e.
electro/magnetic field aided laser process and supersonic laser
deposition technology, are introduced in the book, to solve the
common problems in quality control and low efficiency of the
laser-only surface modification technology, high contamination and
high consumption of the traditional surface modification
technology. This book focuses on the principle, characteristics,
special equipment, process and industrial applications of the
hybrid laser surface modification processes based on the recent
research results of the author's group, and provides theoretical
guidance and engineering reference for the researchers and
engineers engaging in the field of surface engineering and
manufacturing.
This book introduces the engineering application of the discrete
element method (DEM), especially the simulation analysis of the
typical equipment (scraper conveyor, coal silos, subsoiler) in the
coal and agricultural machinery. In this book, the DEM is applied
to build rigid and loose coupling model, and the kinematic effect
of the bulk materials, the mechanical effect of the interaction
between the bulk materials, and the mechanical equipment in the
operation process of the relevant equipment are studied. On this
basis, the optimization design strategy of the relevant structure
is proposed. This book effectively promotes the application of DEM
in engineering, analyzes the operation state, failure mechanism,
and operation effect of related equipment in operation, and
provides theoretical basis for the optimal design of equipment. The
book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students who are
interested in mechanical engineering, researchers investigating
coal and agricultural machinery, and engineers working on designing
related equipments.

With the rapid development in wireless-network and portable
computing and communication devices, mobile users are expected to
have access to information from anywhere at anytime in the near
future, in the form of ubiquitous c- puting, a term coined by the
late Mark Weiser of Xerox, PARC. Indeed, the emerging mobile
technology will probably bring us the next wave of information
revolution and change our society as we move into the next
millennium. Before this vision can be realized, a number of
challenges have to be overcome. Tra- tionally, network-based
information systems have been developed under wired assumptions
about the connectivity and topology of the underlying networks. To
eliminate these limitations from wireless and mobile environments,
research e orts are needed in networks, architecture, software
infrastructure, and app- cation levels, in order to provide mobile
data access over hybrid wireless and wired networks, which is the
central theme of this conference.

fundamentals of spacecraft fault-tolerant attitude control systems,
along with the most recent research and advanced, nonlinear control
techniques. This book gives researchers a self-contained guide to
the complex tasks of envisaging, designing, implementing and
experimenting by presenting designs for integrated modeling,
dynamics, fault-tolerant attitude control, and fault reconstruction
for spacecraft. Specifically, the book gives a full literature
review and presents preliminaries and mathematical models, robust
fault-tolerant attitude control, fault-tolerant attitude control
with actuator saturation, velocity-free fault tolerant attitude

In the era of e-commerce and digitalization, new commercial
patterns and opportunities are emerging. For example, in addition
to traditional reselling marketing channels, manufacturers can
easily open direct channels using a variety of digital marketing
strategies. These new marketing channels will cause conflict and
competition between manufacturers and resellers. This raises the
important question of how to make optimal decisions for multiple
players in dual-channel supply chain contexts. Within changing and
uncertain operation environments, business enterprises must face
tougher challenges than before to survive in competitive markets.
This book aims to address representative decision-making problems
in dual-channel supply chains with risk-averse channel members. The
most recently developed risk assessment technique, Conditional
Value at Risk (CVaR), will be adopted as the predominant criterion
to measure the risk-averse attitude. Based on game theory,
important issues such as channel selection, pricing, order
quantity, manufacturer encroachment, greening strategy, consumer
return policies, financing strategies, channel coordination,
contract design, information asymmetry, and capacity constraint
will be modeled and analyzed. This book will help readers better
understand operations management in dual-channel supply chain
contexts with risk-averse behaviors, and will also provide
effective techniques and tools for researchers and offer managerial
insights for practitioners.
