* The first book to tackle the complexities of sustainability
assessment and provide practical solutions * Comprehensive
analysis, guidance, and criteria for impact assessment
professionals and policymakers at all levels and in all
circumstances* Applicable to the new EU Strategic Environmental
Assessment Directive and other international assessment systems
Many governments express commitments to sustainability, yet until
now assessing sustainability in projects, plans, programs, and
policies has been largely limited to traditional environmental
assessment (EA) with an imperfect attempt to staple on biophysical
and socio-economic considerations. While traditional EA focuses on
mitigating negative effects, achieving true sustainability demands
that each new undertaking make a positive contribution to desirable
and durable futures. This onerous goal can only be achieved if
decisionmakers are able to consciously and publicly specify and use
sustainability-centered criteria to justify options and to weigh
trade-offs.Sustainability Assessment covers all aspects of the core
requirements of sustainability including the creation of basic
criteria, handling trade-offs, practicalities in application,
implications for process design and uses in decisionmaking as well
as examining the range of tools and innovative examples available
to assist implementation of sustainability assessment.

Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson offer a candid and unfiltered look
at America's pastime, discussing the art of pitching, the art of
hitting, and all things baseball.
Full of brush-backs, walk-off homeruns, high stakes, cold stares,
epic battles, and a little chin music here and there, "Sixty Feet,
Six Inches" is a baseball fan's dream come true, a go to guide for
how the game should be played. There is no part of the sport that
these two titans do not discuss at length: big picture issues like
how steroids have affected the game and handling the pressure of
stardom, right next to exact descriptions of the mechanics of
pitching and hitting. Filled with one-of-a-kind insider stories
that recall a who's who of baseball nobility, including Willie
Mays, Alex Rodriguez, Hank Aaron, Albert Pujols, Billy Martin, and
Joe Torre, it is an unforgettable baseball history by two of the
game's greatest superstars.

My goal for my photography is to capture and share the beauty
around us that, until now even I never took the time to recognize
and enjoy. So, if for only a moment, stop, "smell the roses" and
enjoy
Digitally capturing birds, flowers, butterflies and other small
beautiful things always reaffirms my faith in God, for I'm always
reminded of a line in a Hymn, "All things bright and beautiful God
hath made." How else could anything so intricate, complex and
beautiful even exist?
"OPEN YOUR EYES AND LISTEN TO THE BLUEBIRDS" is a result of
hundreds of hours of observing bluebirds in our back yard at our
feeders and birdhouses. Watching the body language of these birds
through a 600 mm Nikon lens has been a pure pleasure and one that
had to be shared, the first picture that made me realize I must
share what I was hearing was the one I captioned "Are you listing
to me?" It was then I knew that these birds were talking to us
through their body language and we had only to watch closely to see
what they had to say. I quickly found that that had a good bit to
say and learned that they were excellent stand up comedians. So,
after you've read this book, pick up some binoculars or a long
lens, a few meal worms a comfortable chair, sit back, watch and
listen to your bluebirds. You'll find there is nothing quite so
special as "listening" to a couple of God's wonderful creations."
God Bless.
This novel is a novel for the ages. An intriguing and thought
provoking expos that will have you hanging on every word with
anticipation and sitting on the edge of your set.
