How did dinosaurs grow, move, eat, and reproduce? Were they warm-blooded or cold-blooded? How intelligent were they? How are the various groups of dinosaurs related to each other, and to other kinds of living and extinct vertebrates? What can the study of dinosaurs tell us about the process of evolution? And why did typical dinosaurs become extinct? All of these questions, and more, are addressed in the new, expanded, second edition of The Complete Dinosaur. Written by many of the world's leading experts on the "fearfully great" reptiles, the book s 45 chapters cover what we have learned about dinosaurs, from the earliest discoveries of dinosaurs to the most recent controversies. Where scientific contention exists, the editors have let the experts agree to disagree. Copiously illustrated and accessible to all readers from the enthusiastic amateur to the most learned professional paleontologist, The Complete Dinosaur is a feast for serious dinosaur lovers everywhere."
Common Christianity / Uncommon Commentary, Volume II is the second collection of Christian short essays written originally as newspaper columns for Current publications in Indiana. When Current ceased carrying its "In Spirit" feature in 2016, author Bob Walters kept on writing, continuing weekly to offer his typically uncommon takes on common Christian issues. Volume II contains all Bob's Current and online columns from November 8, 2011 (#261) to November 1, 2016 (#520). There is a thorough Titles and Topics listing up front and for further ease of navigation, a meticulous topical index in the back. Bob's still writing ... Volume III in 2021?
This book is a compilation of five years of weekly Christian newspaper columns with thoughtful and often wry reflections on Christianity, Christian life, and modern culture. Written by late-to-the-faith journalist and communications executive Bob Walters, the columns have been published in the weekly ""Current"" local general interest newspapers in Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville and Fishers, Indiana, on the northside of Indianapolis since the paper's founding in October 2006. It's uncommon for a newspaper to provide this kind of direct, believer's commentary on common Christian themes, hence the title - Common Christianity / Uncommon Commentary.Foreword by Dr. David Faust, President, Cincinnati Christian University.
