Romantic comedy about a one-night stand gone wrong. After painful break ups, two young New Yorkers meet up for the night after seeing one another on a dating site. Urged on by her friend Faiza (Jessica Szohr), Megan (Analeigh Tipton) decides to take a chance and spend the night at Alec (Miles Teller)'s, who wants equally little commitment from their night together. But as Megan tries to flee in the morning after the pair realise they can't stand each other, there's a much more worrying revelation in store; they've slept through a snowstorm and are now trapped in Alec's small Brooklyn apartment. Once they get past the initial hostilities, the couple realise the only way they're going to make it through another day together is if they try and get to know each other. But will that make their situation any easier?
Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon star in this drama directed and co-written by Ramin Bahrani. Single father Dennis Nash (Garfield) is struggling to make ends meet and take care of his mother Lynn (Laura Dern) and son Connor (Noah Lomax). When they are kicked out of their home by crooked real estate broker Rick Carver (Shannon) their life is thrown into disarray. In an effort to reclaim his house Dennis accepts a job offer from Carver to evict others from their homes. But Dennis ends up going on a downward spiral, living a double life and caught between earning big money and having a guilty conscience.
Woody Harrelson stars in this drama co-written by James Ellroy, telling the story of a corrupt cop whose destructive streak is wreaking havoc in both his personal and professional life. The film tracks the downward spiral of Dave 'Date Rape' Brown (Harrelson), a veteran police officer who has become infamous for his repeated misconduct while working for the LAPD's infamous Rampart Division. But despite being proud of his reputation as a compulsive womaniser, alcoholic, racist and all-round manipulator and bully, Dave does show a flicker of humanity when it comes to his two daughters, who live in the house next door with his two ex-wives (Anne Heche and Cynthia Nixon).
American drama written and directed by Oren Moverman. Richard Gere plays down on his luck George Hammond who is thrown out of his scruffy Manhattan apartment by his landlord (Steve Buscemi). At first he walks the streets and asks for change before staying at the Bellevue Hospital, the largest refuge for homeless men in Manhattan. The story follows George as he navigates the bureaucracy required to get a bed and a meal voucher at the Bellevue, and his attempts to repair relations with his estranged daughter Maggie (Jena Malone). Another client at the Hospital, talkative Dixon (Ben Vereen) helps George come to terms with his homeless status in this sensitive depiction.
