A double bill of alien chasing. In 'MIB', after chasing a fugitive
with an advanced alien weapon, New York cop James Edwards (Will
Smith) finds himself recruited to the MiB, a top secret agency in
charge of alien immigration on Earth. He is partnered with K (Tommy
Lee Jones), and sent to investigate an alien prediction of the end
of the world. They have to track down a hostile alien life form
currently wearing the human skin of a country hick named Edgar.
Whilst in 'MIIB' it is some four years later and K (Lee Jones) has
returned to a civilian life, working as a postman and quite unaware
of his former heroics alongside Agent J (Smith). But when J
uncovers a secret alien plot organised by the seemingly seductive
Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle) he has to call on K again.
Unfortunately K has no memory of his former role as
'Saver-of-the-World', but somewhere in his head is the expertise
that can save the Earth, if only J can get him onside in time.
A double bill of films set in India. Comedy-drama 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' (2011) follows the experiences of a group of elderly Brits who arrive to take up residence in a newly-opened retirement home in Bangalore, India. Despite its glossy publicity campaign, the Marigold turns out to be rather different from the refurbished luxury hotel advertised in the brochures.
However, it soon begins to reveal some unexpected charms of its own. Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel, Tom Wilkinson and Maggie Smith star.
'Slumdog Millionaire' (2008), the rags-to-possible riches tale, was the winner of eight Oscars at the 2009 Academy Awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
Jamal Malik (Patel) is an 18-year-old street kid from the slums of Mumbai. So what is he doing appearing on the Indian version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'? How can a young man from his background of poverty have acquired the knowledge to be only one correct answer away from winning 20 million rupees? With only one more question to be asked, however, the dream turns to nightmare. As the hooter sounds to signal the end of the show, Jamal is arrested and accused of cheating.
No one can believe that he could really know all of the answers he has given. As Jamal tells the story of his life to the police, the reasons for his success begin to appear. Will Jamal be freed to hear the final question and, if so, will he know the answer?
Hancock
John Hancock (Smith) is a conflicted, alcoholic superhero whose heroics have saved many lives. Unfortunately, the damage he always leaves in his wake has caused him to lose the support of the public. When Hancock saves the life of PR executive, Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), Ray makes it his mission to change Hancock's image and help him regain the support of the people. Hancock grudgingly accepts and Ray convinces him to turn himself into the authorities who subsequently imprison him for his lawless behaviour. As the crime rate begins to increase, the people of Los Angeles realise just how important Hancock was to the safety of the city. With his reputation restored, everything seems right again... until Hancock meets Ray's wife (Charlize Theron), a woman with similar powers to his own, who may hold the key to his secret past.

At 17, Nan wants to leave the family farm and go to study. Caught
between her powerful mother and yielding, drunken father, she
absorbs the tensions of their divided household and dotes on her
new gelding, a gift from her father. When a sudden accident leaves
the horse blind, Nan's mother insists he must be put down,
initiating a power struggle that brings the family's conflicts
explosively to the fore. First published in 1938, The Crazy Hunter
is an electrifying short novel-sharply observed, psychologically
astute and morally complex. Written in lush, entrancing prose, it
is the finest work by a significant modernist writer.
This comprehensive guide covers every stage of organising and
teaching a course in contract drafting. With extensive sample
course materials, it offers useful tips for building nuance,
creative thinking, and experiential learning into contract drafting
curricula. Chapters give detailed definitions and examples of core
contract concepts including representations and warranties;
covenants; conditions; discretionary authority; and declarations.
Exploring complex issues such as ethical negotiation, cross-border
transactions and the impact of technology on contracts, it presents
a nuanced syllabus that can be adapted for courses that focus
exclusively on contract drafting as well as those that contain
other elements. The book provides tested examples of exercise sets,
grading rubrics, sample contracts and peer-to-peer activities,
focusing on engaging students in the dynamics of a client
interaction. It turns to neuroscience and learning theory to
identify effective pedagogical approaches, giving concrete
recommendations for how these can be implemented in the classroom.
Professors and instructors teaching contract law, as well as any
form of transactional practice will find this book invaluable in
developing their courses, with expert guidance on how to boost
student understanding and engagement.
