Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson star as two former salesmen who, never having
managed to come to grips with the digital age, are left high and
dry when their employer suddenly decides to call it a day. Staking
everything on one last throw of the dice, the pair, defying all the
odds, somehow manage to get themselves accepted onto a coveted

The Watch (2012)
Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade star as a group of
friends who form a neighbourhood watch group. While Evan Trautwig, a newcomer to the suburban neighbourhood, may have a
legitimate reason for forming a crime watch group following the
recent murder of a friend, it is clear that for most of the men
ulterior motives are at work. Indeed, Bob Finnerty seems
to spend a lot more time examining the dating habits of his
daughter, Chelsea, than he does looking for
threats. However, when the men stumble across what appears to be an
alien plan to destroy humankind, they understand where their
responsibilities lie and set out to counter the threat.
Tim Burton directs this fantasy adventure based on the bestselling
book by Ransom Riggs. When Jacob Portman (Asa Butterfield)'s
grandfather dies, he leaves him clues to a mysterious place called
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob determines to
discover the story behind this strange establishment and the
unusual Miss Peregrine (Eva Green), he finds that the peculiar
children in question are so-called because they have extraordinary
powers and it is his destiny to protect them from an evil force
intent on destroying them. The all-star cast includes Judi Dench,
Samuel L. Jackson, Chris O'Dowd and Rupert Everett.

This book revolves around the idea that capitalism is not a
democratic system and that a system of producer cooperatives, or
democratically managed enterprises, gives rise to a new mode of
production which is authentically socialist in essence and fully
consistent with the ultimate rationale underlying Marx's
theoretical approach. The author argues that the cooperative firm
system outlined in this book offers a rich array of non-economic
benefits that justify its classification as a 'genuinely socialist'
entity, with real potential for achieving true economic democracy.
This book will be required reading for all economists who are not
content with the current capitalist economic system, and yet will
still provide intriguing and thought-provoking insights for those
who are.
In this book Bruno Latour calls upon Christians to join the
struggle to avert a climate catastrophe. First and foremost,
Christians need to overcome their lack of interest in ‘earthly
things’ and pay attention to the Earth at a time when it is being
neglected. He also urges Christians to renew their
understanding of their faith in the context of the new image of the
world that has emerged from Earth system science – that of a
world in which the myriad of beings that inhabit the world are
interdependent and living in close proximity on a slender, fragile
membrane on the surface of the planet. This new image of the
world cannot fail to have an impact on the sciences, on politics
and on religion, just as, in earlier centuries, the cosmology of
Copernicus and Galileo upset the old order. Latour sees the
ecological crisis, and the cosmological mutation that it entails,
as an opportunity to convey anew, to the largest possible audience,
the tradition of Christianity as it has never been appreciated
before, by bringing to bear the lessons of eschatology on the great
crisis that looms before us all.
This 2021 National Jewish Book Award finalist by author Megan Hoyt
and illustrator Iacopo Bruno brings to light the inspiring, true
story of Gino Bartali, a beloved Italian cyclist and secret
champion in the fight for Jewish lives during World War II. Gino
Bartali pedaled across Italy for years, winning one cycling race
after another, including the 1938 Tour de France. Gino became an
international sports hero! But the next year, World War II began,
and it changed everything. Soldiers marched into Italy. Tanks
rolled down the cobbled streets of Florence. And powerful leaders
declared that Jewish people should be arrested. To the entire
world, Gino Bartali was merely a champion cyclist. But Gino’s
greatest achievement was something he never told a soul—that he
secretly worked with the Italian resistance to save hundreds of
Jewish men, women, and children, and others, from certain death,
using the one thing no authority would question: his bicycle. This
compelling nonfiction picture book for elementary-age readers
offers a unique perspective on World War II history. It's a strong
choice for units on the war and for biographies of lesser-known
heroes in history and in sports.

Economic democracy is essential for creating a truly democratic
political sphere. This engaging book uses Marxist theory to
hypothesise that capitalism is not a democratic system, and that a
modern socialist system of producer cooperatives and democratically
managed enterprises is urgently needed. A New Model of Socialism
focuses on the current crisis of the political Left, a result of
the collapse of the Soviet model of society and the decline of
statism and kingship. Bruno Jossa expands on existing theories to
explore Marx?s notions on economic democracy in a modern setting.
He advocates a move away from the centralised planning form of
economic socialism towards a self-management system for firms that
does not prioritise the interests of one class over another, in
order to achieve greater economic democracy. It is argued that the
establishment of such a system of democratic firms is the
precondition for reducing intervention in the economy, thus
enabling the State to perform its ultimate function of serving the
public interest. This timely book is ideal for advanced scholars of
Marxist, radical and heterodox economic theory, as well as
academics with an interest in the rise of socialism in our modern
world. Indeed, it will also be of value to all those seeking a
viable and practical alternative to existing capitalist and
socialist thinking.
This new comic-book version of Euripides’ classic The Trojan
Women follows the fates of Hekabe, Andromache and Kassandra after
Troy has been sacked and all its men killed. The Trojan Women is a
wildly imaginative collaboration between the visual artist Rosanna
Bruno and the poet and classicist Anne Carson. Both wacky and
devastating, the book gives a genuine representation of how human
beings are affected by warfare. All the characters take the form of
animals (except Kassandra, whose mind is in another world). Anne
Carson collaborated with artist Bianca Stone on their Sophokles
reimagining, Antigonick, published by Bloodaxe in 2012. This new
collaboration with Rosanna Bruno couldn’t be more different.
Rosanna Bruno is an artist who makes paintings, comics and bad
puns. Her first book, The Slanted Life of Emily Dickinson (Andrews
McMeel, 2017), is a book of cartoons based on the myth of her life.

This book takes a new, critical, and multidisciplinary look at
experiences and meanings of social intervention in different social
contexts, taking the approaches of social constructionism as a
theoretical approach. This volume collects the results of
theoretical-practical experiences that social science professionals
with critical and constructionist visions linked to social work
intervention have carried out in different spaces. The volume
considers the way social work intervention models are built, their
foundation, and their application. It provides the findings on
tested intervention models built according to the basis of social
constructionism in specific social scenarios, providing interesting
findings that show intervention alternatives beyond traditional
approaches. This volume includes chapters that are characterized by
the results of innovative research and interventions with
alternative and appropriate approaches to each problem. The social
intervention strategies discussed take place in diverse situations,
including health recovery and reconstruction in breast cancer,
family abandonment issues of institutionalized adolescents,
institutional care of refugee families, women caregivers of
children with disabilities, men who exercise violence, and more.
Key features Describes in detail the main principles of social
constructionism Discusses the "know how" of building social
intervention models based on social constructionism Shows the
experiences and results of making of these models in real cases
Presents a variety of other views and perspectives about social
intervention This unique and original work, Models of Social
Intervention and Constructionism: Current Narratives, showcases
theoretical reflection and practices from the principles of social
constructionism to the application of those in specific realities,
sharing firsthand experiences and a methodology that help to
reproduce the process. The volume will be valuable to professionals
and institutions that deal with emerging social situations that
need a nontraditional approach to face them accurately as well as
to students and faculty who study intervention models and/or social
constructionism.
Bruno Jossa expertly illustrates that the creation of a system of
cooperative firms is tantamount to a revolution giving rise to a
new production mode capable of reversing the existing relationship
between capital and labour. The book also demonstrates a revolution
enacted by peaceful and democratic means in order for
worker-managed organisations to outnumber capitalistic ones.
Providing a comprehensive insight into these models, Jossa examines
the relations between political power and economic democracy,
ownership and bankruptcy risks within democratic organisations.
Using the theories of Marx and Engels, the book offers a new model
of socialism, allowing for a worker-led system and suppressing
capitalism, whilst inviting a more theoretical approach without the
suppression of markets. Thought-provoking in its approach, On
Market Socialism will provide an excellent resource for policy
makers in labour and political economics and also scholars of the
history of economics and radical economics.
