Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine star in this crime drama directed by David MacKenzie. Divorced father Toby (Pine) and his ex-con brother Tanner (Ben Foster) stage a string of carefully planned bank robberies in a desperate attempt to save their family's West Texas farm from bank foreclosure. With the thefts mounting up, ageing Texas Ranger Marcus (Bridges) is assigned to investigate the crimes and quickly begins gathering evidence. When Tanner decides to stage an impromptu heist of his own, the wily Marcus is quickly on his trail, putting the brother's plan in jeopardy and their family's future in serious doubt.
