This is the second book and sequel in the American Bushido series.
This novel is what the title suggests it is: a Revenge story.
Commando, Gabriel Dunne hunts the men that left his childhood
friend on death's doorstep. Revenge must wait as Gabriel and his
team are whisked around the globe and asked to do the impossible.
Gabriel must battle his emotions while fighting terrorists on
foreign soil. Vengance transforms Gabriel into The Angel of Death
as he hunts evil men inside his own borders. His search leads him
to the top of an empire and a final showdown.
This is the story of Gabriel Dunne, a lower class white kid growing
up in South Florida. At the age of ten, he is thrust, along with
his best friend, Thomas, into a hair-raising adventure. Stalked by
a savage foreign killer, they only have each other and one way out
to escape. Gabriel's life-and-death experience as a boy serves as
an initiation, unwittingly sending him into manhood. As an adult,
Gabriel becomes an elite member of a commando unit rescuing
hostages behind enemy lines. Suspense, adventure, humor and a touch
of horror are mixed together in this tale that spans over fifteen
years.
This book is a collaboration of some of the state of California's
most insidious inmates. These men were saturated in a sea of
negativity, for an extensive amount of time. However, through trial
an error they changed their lifestyle. Their testimonials give you
a better understanding of why some people turn to drugs, gangs, and
crime; these testimonies are real and raw to give you a vivid
insight into their reality. Redemption is a process that is
possible for anyone willing to take the first step.
Teacher's edition The book contains 14 male and female African
American inventors, firsts, and political leaders who are not
widely seen in U.S. history books, but have made major
contributions to not only the U.S., but to the world. Additionally,
this book contains answers to educational assessments such as a
glossary for vocabulary words, review/discussion questions, puzzles
and tests. The volume set includes a student and a teacher's
edition. This book is excellent for a classroom supplemental
History Book. The reading level is suitable for 3rd to 7th grades
students. "Creating an awareness of the contributions of African
Americans."
The Psalms of David, as written in the Holy Bible, have been
fascinating to Yaqob Tafari Makuannen since he was a young boy. In
this book, The Holy Psalms of David with Commentary by Yaqob Tafari
Makuannen, Yaqob has the honor of presenting the Psalms to the
world with his interpretation. Historically, the Psalms were a
collection of songs sung to King Saul of Israel, who was
overwhelmed by evil spirits. When no one could help the King,
neither physicians nor others, David, the shepherd boy, was brought
to the King's side where he played the harp and sang for him. The
evil spirits left King Saul, and the King was well again. Most of
the Psalms were written by David and were a direct communication to
God. Some were words of praise, adoration, and worship. Some were
pleas to God for help in troubled times. The continuing thread,
however, is the fact that God is the Creator, who will never leave
nor forsake those who are righteous in their thinking -- like
David. Although the Psalms of David were written in ancient times,
the content reflects life today. Yaqob Tafari Makuannen makes that
connection through his commentary. Some of his comments are
explanatory; some are reflective; some are just plain common sense.
Enjoy them. Like David, Yaqob is a singer of songs, and a composer
-- a musician. Yaqob plays the harp, auto-zither, guitar, and
piano. He believes that music, especially with string instruments,
can soothe, heal, and relax one's spirit. His music is
inspirational. In conjunction with this book, Yaqob, a.k.a., Ya
Tafari, has compiled a CD with his original music and vocals, to
accompany these Psalms: 1, 3, 4, 14, 22, 23, 41, 68, 103, 116, 119,
141, and 150. It is entitled The Psalms of David by Ya Tafari. For

This book is about the experience of an Eritrean in the era of the
nation's struggle for freedom and independence. It reflects the
objective reality of the Eritrean experience from the periphery
and/or from within the struggle. Through this book, I have the
opportunity to transmit that I became what I became by accident and
I had to live what my being brought to my existence one way or
another for this life. But I designed my psychic integrity by
incidence: Nature is responsible for my actuality but I am
responsible for my concept of existence. My state of mind states
that I should not exasperate a mess at the expense of my stress, I
should Kill my arrogance with modesty and harass my ego with
humility. I should surrender to the inner-self to defend humanity
and look through the lenses of compassion to impact society. My
existence is only worth when I use it with my impermanence on the
background. It ain't worth to be a prisoner of greed, race,
ethnicity or power for opportunism can easily be directed towards
spirituality rather than to individuality. I want to universalize
my outlook and stand for justice anywhere applicable.
The Mushroom is a story of Robert Hamlin, "an ordinary man," set in
our current American culture. He's someone with whom most men can
identify, at least on some levels. He is a good-hearted man who
loves his wife and his job, but soon finds his life in complete and
utter ruin, despite his best efforts. When your masculinity is
slowly eaten away, it becomes hard to move. His love and kindness
go unnoticed and his career is jeopardized by the selfish conniving
actions of others, leaving him stranded in a world with no options.
He soon finds himself in the fight of his life, but not against
terrorists or wild beasts. He must fight for the will to live.
Finding the will to get up one more morning was all he needed to
turn his world around. A new sunrise and a special mushroom will
provide him with extraordinary powers, skills and visions of the
past, present, and future, which will change his life forever.
THIS STORY TOUCHES THE HEART OF THE READER. IT IS ABOUT THE LOVE
AND STRENGTH OF STACEY, AND HOW SHE WAS PUT IN SITUATION THAT WOULD
BREAK THE STRONGEST PERSON DOWN. BUT BECAUSE OF THE LOVE SHE
RECEIVED FROM HER GRANDMOTHER AND COUSIN TERRY AND THEN LATER FROM
HER CHILDREN, SHE WAS ABLE TO OVERCOME THE WORST OF SITUATIONS AND
STILL BE ABLE TO HAVE LOVE IN HER HEART. THIS IS A VERY COMPELLING
STORY, WELL WORTH READING.
X is a man without fear with an anonymous past who sets out in
search of his true identity and life's purpose. The names given him
in childhood seem meaningless, so he calls himself simply "X." He
has neither college degree nor is he a maven of religion, but his
travels lead him to the knowledge of an ancient spiritual legend
that will unlock universal truths only to those who are chosen.
Although the United States is known for its liberty, patriotism and
iconic landmarks, it is beset by crime, racism, environmental
issues, war, and disease, better known as CREWD. X's revelations
lead him from the West to the small town of Utopia, New York, where
he crosses paths with five youths who are also in search of answers
to their own puzzling discoveries. The youths, aka "the crew,"
consists of a Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, Native and African
American who spend most of their time together at school and at the
clubhouse trying to decipher the mystery of the LITE. In their
search, each will be faced with the archenemy, CREWD. They will
come face to face with life altering challenges that will lead them
into a roller coaster ride of mysterious clues, secrets and
supernatural events. However, collectively with X, they will be
bonded by a divine code that bears the anointed words: a time to
love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for PEACE.
(Ecclesiastes 3:8) God's word is a serious weapon against the
kingdom of Darkness His Light shall shine.
