Das Buch ist ein Leitfaden zur Verwendung beim Einsatz von FEM-Software. Die Darstellung der FEM und die baustatische Interpretation der FEM setzt geringe Vorkenntnisse voraus. Es werden die Grundlagen der FEM in einer an die Probleme des Bauingenieurs angepassten Art praxisgerecht dargestellt. In den folgenden Kapiteln wird die Anwendung der FEM auf Stabtragwerke, Scheiben, Platten und Schalen behandelt, wobei auch hier wieder theoretische Grundlagen mit praktischen Aspekten verbunden werden.
