This resource enables teachers to deliver education for sustainable development from a global perspective within the subject areas of design, technology and geography at Key Stage 3 of the UK National Curriculum (11-14 year olds). The teaching pack combines: case studies - sustainable technology in action in the lives of ordinary people and their communities around the world on the themes of transport, solar energy, food and eco-fashion. The case studies are further supported with A4 colour picture cards. Delivery of tools - teacher's notes giving ideas on what you need to deliver on sustainable development in the curriculum. Ideas for students - enabling students to explore the design and application of technologies appropriate to sustainable development. Designing and making activities - enabling students to get a hands on grasp of sustainable technology in action.;The pack is further supported by the Sustainable Technology Education Project (STEP) web-site.
