A comprehensive treatment of the current concern with values in
education. In six volumes, a team of over 120 contributors and
experts from around the world examine the issues and place them in
a context of culture and diversity. Volumes 1 to 3 provide a
wide-ranging consideration of the diversity of values in education
at all levels, and thus represents a framework for the focus of
Volumes 4 to 6, which focus more specifically on values education
(moral, religious, spiritual and political). Overall the six
volumes bring together the fundamental domain of values with the
important issue of pluralism and the world of independent cultural
traditions, to generate new, fruitful and progressive reflection
and exemplars of good practice. Handsomely bound and printed they
are an essential reference tool and represent a significant
contribution of interest and benefit to educators, policy makers,
parents, academics, researchers and student teachers.
One of the major problems facing societies, in almost all parts of
the world, is the inadequate accommodation of social equity with
cultural diversity. The crisis emanating from neglect of this issue

and the stimulation of greater discourse, to identify the pathways

of equity and diversity. In this fourth volume there are two major

global responsibilities. The authors review, critically discuss and
seek to extend the theoretical and ideological assumptions,
underlying policy and practice in their chosen field, within the
context of these two foci. The aim of their testimony is to place
the life experience of teachers and children within a more globally
responsible and world-sensitive context, drawing out the

During the last forty years, Hans Eysenck's brilliant contribution
to knowledge has beenwell-known world-wide. From its early
transmission, his work has not been without itscritics. Naturally,
criticisms persist, although his work continues to be
frequentlyacknowledged with great admiration in the channels of
psychology. With such prolificwork, it would seem justified to
consider the discrepancies, the omissions, together withthe various
interpretations which have been and are currently being
highlighted.

itself in a diversity of approaches to policy and practice in
