British comedy starring Burt Reynolds as Jefferson Steel, a washed-up Hollywood action star desperate to revive his flagging career. When his sleazy agent (Charles Durning) signs him up for what he believes is a high-profile Royal Shakespeare Company production of King Lear at Stratford upon Avon, Steel thinks he has finally landed the plum role he has been waiting for. However, he soon discovers that he has been tricked into joining an amateur dramatics group for a charity production. Imelda Staunton, Derek Jacobi and Samantha Bond co-star.
The Coen Brothers own unique take on Homer's Odyssey sets the action in 1930s Mississippi, where three clueless convicts escape a chain gang and go in search of buried treasure. This leads to a series of unlikely adventures - involving one-eyed con-men, seductive sirens and Ku Klux Klan lynchings - which culminate with the boys inadvertently discovering fame as hit recording artists The Soggy Bottom Boys. Starring George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson as the hapless heroes, and featuring a soundtrack jam-packed with American folk standards, 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' takes its title from the film-within-a-film in Preston Sturges' 1941 classic 'Sullivan's Travels'.
The complete second series of the popular American sitcom. Stand-up comedian Ray Romano stars as Ray Barone, a successful sportswriter and devoted husband to Debra (Patricia Heaton), who must deal with his brother, Robert (Brad Garrett), and his parents, Frank and Marie (Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts), who happen to live across the street. His parents love to meddle in his life, while Robert sometimes resents Ray's success. Nevertheless, Ray manages to keep a bright outlook and a sense of humour as he balances his family and work life. Episodes comprise: 'Ray's On TV', 'Father Knows Least', 'Brother', 'Mozart', 'Golf', 'Anniversary', 'Working Late Again', 'The Children's Book', 'The Gift', 'High School', 'The Letter', 'All I Want for Christmas', 'Civil War', 'Mia Famiglia', 'Marie's Meatballs', 'The Checkbook', 'The Ride-Along', 'The Family Bed', 'Good Girls', 'T-Ball', 'Traffic School', 'Six Feet Under', 'The Garage Sale', 'The Wedding: Part 1' and 'The Wedding: Part 2'.
A man (Al Pacino) stages a bank robbery so that his homosexual lover can pay for a sex-change operation. He bungles the robbery and is caught up in a stand-off with police, bargaining with the lives of his hostages. The event soon gets television coverage and the hostages begin to get friendly with their kidnappers, while their attempts to bargain are bungled all the way. Directed by Sidney Lumet.
Richard Jordan, Jami Gertz and Jason Petric star in this futuristic sci-fi drama. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where most of Earth's water has disappeared and the planet is ruled by the Eco Protectorate corporation, the story follows a group of teen skateboarders who are held captive in an orphanage on the desert planet. After the group's leader Grock (Jordan) discovers a magical orb, the teenagers rebel against their megalomaniac ruler and, with the help of a group of outlaws known as the Eco Warriors, try to restore water to the Earth.
Seasonal family comedy starring Kelsey Grammer as Santa Claus's pleasure-seeking son. Shirking his duties and refusing to take life's responsibilities seriously, Nick prefers to spend the festive season hanging out at the beach with his friends. Meanwhile, back at the family home Mistletoe Manor, Santa Claus Senior (Charles Durning) and his wife Queen Carlotta (Katherine Helmond) are feeling their age and bemoaning the absence of the wayward Crown Prince.
