Originally published in 1910, this is a volume of philosophy by an
author who found his main calling in the creation of novels,
Charles Francis Keary (1848-1917). Unusual in its relatively
personal exploration of ideas, together with its accessible,
literary style, the text nonetheless maintains an academically
rigorous approach to its exploration of the boundaries of reason.
The fundamental premise is that mental processes generally thought
to be based on intuition can, more accurately, be seen to find
their basis in reasoning; this premise, in turn, forms the basis
for an exposition of Keary's philosophy of life and religion. This
is a highly readable, and critically underrated, book that will be
of value to anyone with an interest in philosophy and theology.

1893. Volume II of II. This volume of the Catalogue of English
Coins in the British Museum contains descriptions of the Coins of
Wessex from Ecgbeorht to Eadwig, and of those of All England from
Eadgar to the Norman Conquest. Taken in conjunction with the first
volume, which dealt with the coinages of Mercia, Kent, East Anglia,
and Northumbria, it completes the description of all the
Anglo-Saxon Coins in the National Collection. In the lists of
moneyers given in the first volume the names of those not
represented in the National Collection were inserted. In the
present volume this scheme has been further extended by including
all known types of Coins, whether or not represented in the Museum
series. The names of moneyers and the descriptions of the types of
Coins not in the Museum are printed in italics. As the Coins in the
volume are all Silver Pennies (unless otherwise described), the
weight only of each piece is given, and not the size or metal. This
volume has been compiled by Grueber, Assistant Keeper of Coins and
by Keary, the author of the first volume. See other titles by this
