Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

Chad Jones's Macroeconomics teaches students to think like modern
macroeconomists, with strong and engaging growth coverage and a
more intuitive approach to models. Praised by adopters for its
clear explanations, flexible organisation, timely case studies,
data and emphasis on problem solving, Macroeconomics gives students
the practical tools they need to understand and analyse the
macroeconomy. This innovative text makes macroeconomics less
complicated without sacrificing rigour.

In 1978, the citizens of California took the historic step of
voting for Proposition 13, thus reducing property taxes by 57%.
Already known as a trend setting state, California's tax revolt was
no different, as similar tax revisions quickly spread across the
United States of America. In California, state and local
governments struggled to find a way to manage the loss in revenue.
On many occasions budget cuts were the solution. Library budgets
were frequently the target of those cuts. Proposition 13 -
America's Second Great Tax Revolt details how libraries
prioritized, managed and reacted to hardships in this new world,
and have done so in California for the last forty years where
Proposition 13 is still the law. Library and information science
professionals were facing budget cuts that were as high as 65% with
little to no guarantee of what future budgets were to be. The
actions they took, and the rationale behind those actions, offer
significant lessons to be learned by the library community on both
an academic and practitioner level. Exploring the intended and
unintended consequences of Proposition 13, this book provides an
insightful understanding of how to manage a library budget given a
difficult funding situation. It examines the thought processes
behind government financing and spending priorities, and considers
how libraries can organize, and participate in activism to
influence decision makers.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the shocks of the 2007–2009 global
financial crisis show how linked economies have become. While
continuing to feature the strongest coverage of growth in the
market, Jones now examines our global, interconnected economy with
examples from the COVID-19 recession, the Great Recession, and
other worldwide events. Students can reinforce their understanding
of key concepts through Check Your Understanding questions with
rich, answer-specific feedback, written by Chad Jones himself, in
the Norton Illumine Ebook.

This book provides a multidisciplinary collection of essays that
seek to explore the deeply problematic legacy of post-Agreement
Northern Ireland. Thus, the authors of this book look at a number
of issues that continue to stymie the development of a robust and
sustainable peacebuilding project, including segregation, contested
parades and flags, ethnic party mobilization, and memorialization.
Towards addressing these contemporary issues, authors are drawn
from a range of disciplines, including politics, history,
literature, drama, cultural studies, sociology, and social
psychology.

John Warden wrote "The Air Campaign" in 1986 while attending the
National War College. During his career, he developed a method to
simplify analysis of complex organizations, articulated the
radically new concept of parallel war, created an extremely new
educational system, and synthesized a powerful new approach to
business strategy. In addition to being a theorist, however, he has
had major successes in the real world of war, politics, education,
and business: Generals Schwarzkopf and Powell credited him with
creating the air campaign that defeated Iraq in the Gulf War. He
retired as a colonel from the United States Air Force and is now
the President of Venturist, Inc., a strategy consulting and
computer based training development company.
