An Bushaltestellen wird getwittert und gegoogelt, auf Partys geschossene Fotos werden in Sekundenschnelle auf Facebook hochgeladen, Menschen bedienen in der Offentlichkeit ihr Smart Device per Sprachbefehlen und Zeitungen gibt es nun auch im handlichen digitalen Format. Smartphones und Tablets unterstutzen nahezu jede denkbare Alltagssituation. Sie sind schnell griffbereit, gestatten als vielgenutzter Kommunikationskanal jederzeit den Kontakt mit Freunden und Familie und ermoglichen die Nutzung ihrer Leistungsmerkmale von nahezu jedem Standort aus. Die vorliegende Studienarbeit untersucht daher vor allem die Wandlungserscheinungen der Always-On-Gesellschaft," den sowohl Smartphones als auch Tablets mit sich bringen. Fur ein besseres Verstandnis erfolgen zunachst die Definitionen der wichtigsten Begriffe, die diesem digitalen Segment entsprungen sind. Anschliessend werden die Einsatzmoglichkeiten von Smartphones und Tablets offengelegt, welche mit Nutzerzahlen aus aktuellen Studien erganzt werden. Das darauffolgende Kapitel untersucht die unterschiedlichen Wandlungserscheinungen im Alltag, die durch beide Gerate verursacht werden. Fokussiert werden hierbei die Veranderungen der Kom-munikation zwischen den Menschen untereinander, die Auswirkungen auf das So-zialverhalten eines jeden Nutzers und die neue Art und Weise der Informationsaufnahme. Um weitere und noch nicht erwahnte Erkenntnisse zu betrachten, werden im funften Kapitel die Resultate einer eigens durchgefuhrten Befragung dargestellt, die sich ebenfalls auf den privaten Alltagswandel konzentriert.
