Competition and efficiency is at the core of economic theory.
This volume collects papers of leading scholars, which extend the
conventional general equilibrium model in important ways:
Efficiency and price regulation are studied when markets are
incomplete and existence of equilibria in such settings is proven
under very general preference assumptions. The model is extended to
include geographical location choice, a commodity space
incorporating manufacturing imprecision and preferences for
club-membership, schools and firms. Inefficiencies arising from
household externalities or group membership are evaluated. Core
equivalence is shown for bargaining economies. The theory of risk
aversion is extended and the relation between risk taking and
wealth is experimentally investigated. Other topics include
determinacy in OLG with cash-in-advance constraints, income
distribution and democracy in OLG, learning in OLG and in games,
optimal pricing of derivative securities, the impact of
heterogeneity at the individual level for aggregate consumption,
and adaptive contracting in view of uncertainty.
This edited book presents research results that are relevant for
scientists, practitioners and policymakers who engage in knowledge
and technology transfer from different perspectives. Empirical and
conceptual chapters present original approaches regarding the
current practice and policies behind technology transfer. By
providing analyses at the macro, meso and micro-level, the
respective chapters demonstrate how technology is moving from
various organizational contexts into new institutions and becoming
a critical aspect for competitiveness.
This book constitutes the refereed conference proceedings of the
18th International Conference on Principles and Practice of
Constraint Programming (CP 2013), held in Uppsala, Sweden, in
September 2013. The 61 revised papers presented together with 3
invited talks were carefully selected from 138 submissions. The
scope of the conference is on all aspects of computing with
constraints, including: theory, algorithms, environments,
languages, models and systems, applications such as decision
making, resource allocation, and agreement technologies.

This book is concerned with the architecture and implementation of constraint engines. The author's main contribution is that constraint services, such as search and combinators, are made programmable; this is achieved by devising computation spaces as simple abstractions for programming constraint services at a high level. State-of-the-art and novel search strategies such as visual interactive search and parallel search are covered. This book is indispensable reading for anyone seriously interested in constraint technology.

Angola Cinema honors the unique, fantastic and unknown architecture
of movie theaters in Angola, built in the decades before the end of
Portuguese colonial rule in 1975. Initially designed as traditional
closed spaces, open-air cinemas with terrace bars became the order
of the day, better suited as they were to a tropical climate. The
arrival of these cinemas in the 1960s brought atmosphere and
elegance to the experience of going to the movies; but these urban
cathedrals were also, importantly, a place where social barriers
dissolved and where liberation from colonialism was possible.
Walter Fernandes' (born 1979) photographs offer not only an
examination of the architectural history of these buildings, but
also an important document of urban organization in the twentieth
century, as well as the changing mentalities of a society living
with the prospect of its independence.

Illustrated Edition. Jerry Thomas (1830-1885) was an American
bartender. Due to his pioneering work in popularizing cocktails
across the United States, he is considered "the father of American
mixology." In addition to writing the seminal work on cocktails,
his creativity and showmanship established the image of the
bartender as a creative professional. As such, he was often
nicknamed "Professor" Jerry Thomas. In 1862, Thomas finished "The
Bar-Tender's Guide" (alternately titled "How to Mix Drinks or The
Bon-Vivant's Companion"), the first drink book ever published in
the United States. The book collected and codified what was then an
oral tradition of recipes from the early days of cocktails,
including some of his own creations; the guide laid down the
principles for formulating mixed drinks of all categories

First published in 1862, this seminal work in bartending was the
first drink book ever published in the United States. Collected
here by Jerry Thomas--America's most famous bartender--are dozens
of cocktail recipes, from old standards to mixes invented by Thomas
himself, including his trademark drink, The Blue Blazer. Guides for
mixing drinks of all categories--including sours, fizzes, and
highballs--are included along with instructions on using various
bartending tools, from jiggers to ponies and beyond. This is a
nostalgic and delicious homage to a drinking era that is gone but
not forgotten.

Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich VWL - Konjunktur
und Wachstum, Note: 2,0, Ruhr-Universitat Bochum
(Ostasienwissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die
ernsthaften Bedrohung konfrontiert. Zugenommen hat in letzter Zeit
besonders die Nachahmung in diesen forschungsintensiven und
hochtechnologischen Geschaftsfeldern. Des Weiteren wird weder vor
Geschaftsmodellen noch vor Geschaftskonzepten halt gemacht.
Weltweite Vernetzung und der globale Wissenstransfer lassen
Wissenshurden kleiner werden. Hohe Gewinne, unkomplizierter
Wissensaustausch und die nicht ausreichende Verfolgung der
schutzrechteverletzenden Akteure geben immer wieder neue Anreize in
