This edited book presents research results that are relevant for scientists, practitioners and policymakers who engage in knowledge and technology transfer from different perspectives. Empirical and conceptual chapters present original approaches regarding the current practice and policies behind technology transfer. By providing analyses at the macro, meso and micro-level, the respective chapters demonstrate how technology is moving from various organizational contexts into new institutions and becoming a critical aspect for competitiveness.

This book constitutes the refereed conference proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming (CP 2013), held in Uppsala, Sweden, in September 2013. The arrival of these cinemas in the 1960s brought atmosphere and elegance to the experience of going to the movies; but these urban cathedrals were also, importantly, a place where social barriers dissolved and where liberation from colonialism was possible. Walter Fernandes' (born 1979) photographs offer not only an examination of the architectural history of these buildings, but also an important document of urban organization in the twentieth century, as well as the changing mentalities of a society living with the prospect of its independence.

Due to his pioneering work in popularizing cocktails across the United States, he is considered "the father of American mixology." In addition to writing the seminal work on cocktails, his creativity and showmanship established the image of the bartender as a creative professional. As such, he was often nicknamed "Professor" Jerry Thomas. In 1862, Thomas finished "The Bar-Tender's Guide" (alternately titled "How to Mix Drinks or The Bon-Vivant's Companion"), the first drink book ever published in the United States. Diese besondere Art der Wirtschaftskriminalitat wurde aber auch weltweit zu einem immer grosser werdenden Problem. Der Anteil der IPR verletzenden Produkte gemessen an der gesamten Menge an produzierten Gutern in der VR ist immens. Dieser wird im Moment auf 15- 20% geschatzt. Vor allem hoch entwickelte und innovationsabhangige Industriebranchen sehen sich mit dieser ernsthaften Bedrohung konfrontiert. Zugenommen hat in letzter Zeit besonders die Nachahmung in diesen forschungsintensiven und hochtechnologischen Geschaftsfeldern. Des Weiteren wird weder vor Geschaftsmodellen noch vor Geschaftskonzepten halt gemacht. Weltweite Vernetzung und der globale Wissenstransfer lassen Wissenshurden kleiner werden. Hohe Gewinne, unkomplizierter Wissensaustausch und die nicht ausreichende Verfolgung der schutzrechteverletzenden Akteure geben immer wieder neue Anreize in diesem Gewerbe tatig zu werden. Die Volksrepublik China zahlt derzeit zu den Nationen, welche in hohem Masse mit dieser Problematik konfrontiert wird. Eine verstarkte Zusammenarbeit zwischen Unternehmen, Wissenschaft, der Regierung und dem Ausland ist somit unausweichlich, um dass Ausmass kontrollieren zu konnen. Die Moglichkeit die Marken- und Produktpiraterie unterdrucken zu konnen soll Ausgangspunkt meiner Arbeit sein und deswegen vertrete ich folgende These: Die VR kann mit der Forderung eigener Innovationen, angelehnt an die endogene Wachstumstheorie, die Marken- und Produktpiraterie zuruckdrangen.
