My name is Isra. I am one of two remaining angels. You see, when
God vanished, Lucifer threw open his gates and unleashed his
macabre horde on Earth. Great fiery fissures collapsed cities and
rural areas alike, the very ground roiling like a stormy sea of
unbearable heat. Angels fell like burning rain from the sky, as
they tried to repel the attack and protect humankind. Twisted foul
demons poured from the fissures, an unending torrent of misery that
corrupted all they touched. Monstrous jaws bit and tore tirelessly
until the rivers flowed with blood. We failed. Earth fell into
ruin, its oceans and rivers drying into parched wastelands and its
survivors left despondent. Most despaired so intensely that they
embraced the demons, seeking refuge from anyone. Desperate for
water, humans began imbibing blood to sustain their thirst. I call
those individuals blood drinkers. Food is sparse, and the animals
are all but gone, eaten or slaughtered, so cannibalism is prevalent
as well. The other angel, Hale, and I are all that are left. We
gather remaining survivors that still hold their sanity and morals.
We have separated them into two groups as a failsafe into earthen
grottos that still miraculously contain fresh water. Hale believes
that we may not have our wings any longer, but it is still our duty
to protect mankind, that we must at least try to preserve the
goodness of God's children. I remain unconvinced. After all, God
abandoned us all. Why should we continue to serve His will?
Myles really wants to participate in his classroom potluck supper,
but he gets lost and can't find himself. Will Myles find his way
and join his classmates in bringing in a dish that represents his
family in time for the potluck supper? This is a story about a
school aged boy who is challenged with finding his identity due to
his multiracial background. It is hoped that this book will be
useful in several ways; to encourage young children to embrace
their culture(s) at an early age, to promote self-esteem, to expose
children to food and cultures that may be unfamiliar to them.
Lastly, this is a story about a boy's emotions and frustration
which will resonate to all children regardless of ethnicity. Follow
Myles' fusion confusion journey which ends in his self discovery of
being happily fused.
Routed from her glacial palace in the Frozen March, Salamasca has
fled to the Eastern Kingdom to lick her wounds and gather her
strength once more. The Kingdom of Illyander had earned a temporary
peace with its victory over her ice orc armies, but while the Ice
Queen still lives, she remains a threat to all who walk Aronshae.
No one knows this better than the Ironwright twins, Sasha and
Katya, blessed and cursed by the Great Mother with the power of her
avatar, Akor'shi-kai. With this costly gift, the Snowhaven sisters
have the mystical strength to oppose Salamasca, who has upset the
scales of Aronshae's balance. Jared, Talas, and the Ironwright
twins journey to the mysterious East, a land filled with strange
peoples and even stranger customs, to end Salamasca's threat once
and for all. In the meantime, the Ice Queen has reunited with her
old mentor, Luzige, and her reanimated servant, Roane, to raise an
army of Easterners to crush Illyander and bring all of Aronshae
under her heel. Gathering allies and enemies along their way, the
Illyanders hope to finally destroy the Empress of Ice, knowing all
the while that victory or defeat will mean death for the twins as
they are consumed by the power of Akor'shi-kai. Will the Illyanders
be in time to stop the Ice Queen's rise to power or are they only
rushing to their deaths at the hands of an even more powerful
adversary? As if matters hadn't become complicated enough, the
dragons have returned.
The 100 Ways Grandma Killed Me is a children's book specifically
formulated for adult audiences. It will be enjoyed by parents and
grandparents alike, as it reflects the tensions that erupt between
today's generation of parents vs. the parents of thirty years ago.
Today's children are. understandably, protected and sheltered.
Among other examples, consider the following differences from
thirty years ago: Children no longer play unsupervised outside in
their neighborhood; there is great caution taken in introducing
foods such as peanuts; cabinets are locked and electrical outlets
are covered; and car seats take up the entire back seat of a mini
van. Grandma tends to play by the old rules. Although everyone
knows that she has developed a wonderful, loving relationship with
granddaughter, the parents live in a state of constant anxiety,
mistrust, and worry. Somehow, despite Grandma and her escapades
with her granddaughter, her granddaughter thrives and survives. I
hope every family can read the book They will relate to its humor
and depiction of the generation gap in patenting styles
When grandchildren ask why Grandma and Grandpa aren't married
anymore, explanations don't need to be complicated. When multiple
grandparents (aunts and uncles) are created with blended families,
explaining why divorce happens can be confusing. Because a couple
does not stay married does not mean that either person is
necessarily a "bad" person. Just as not all ingredients make a good
soup.

Archer, woodsman, hunter of man and beast, consort to the Avatar of
the Great Mother, father, and hero. Jared was all these things
during his life, and more. But, before he helped save the city of
Aeirsga, the Kingdom of Illyander and later the world of Aronshae,
he was an orphan; a child lost in the world. This is the story of
Jared in his early years and how his parents came to Illyander from
the mysterious Eastern Kingdom, how they died, and how the young
boy who had lost his parents before he knew them became one of the
finest scouts and bounty hunters in all of Illyander. Sirus, his
secretive mentor, taught him to use his abilities to commune with
the animals of the forest and that trust was a liability he could
ill afford. Jared's journey down the various paths of his life
eventually led him to be one of the greatest heroes in all of
Aronshae, but before that he was just a young man, trying to
survive in a world that he had been taught to fear and never told
why.
