In 'Batman' (1989) the streets of Gotham City are no longer safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. In 'Batman Forever' (1995) former District Attorney Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent (Tommy Lee Jones) is terrorising Gotham City when a new villain appears on the scene - The Riddler (Jim Carrey). Together they plot to take over Gotham and discover Batman (Val Kilmer)'s identity, using a device which can probe the human mind.

Meanwhile, the caped crusader is joined in his fight by new sidekick Robin (Chris O'Donnell), whose trapeze-artist family have recently been slain by Two-Face. Finally, in 'Batman and Robin' (1997) Batman (George Clooney) and Robin (O'Donnell) have to stop the vengeful Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from taking over Gotham City. To make matters worse, the venomous Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman) decides to join forces with Freeze.

Luckily for the caped crusader and his rebellious ward, they team up with new partner Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).

Tony Scott-directed action thriller starring Denzel Washington as John Creasy, a jaded former CIA agent hired by a wealthy Mexican family to act as bodyguard to their ten-year-old daughter Lupita (Dakota Fanning). Initially reluctant to take on such a lowly position, Creasy becomes increasingly fond of his charge as she asks him questions about his life and he begins to open up to her and discover a tenderness long missing from his own life. But his newfound equilibrium is shattered when the girl is kidnapped, and he vows to find the men responsible and bring them to his own form of rough justice. The film is a re-make of the 1987 film starring Scott Glenn as Creasy, also based on the A.J. Quinnell novel.

Nicole Kidman and Jason Bateman star in this dark comedy drama based on the novel by Kevin Wilson. Annie and Baxter Fang (Kidman and Bateman) had an extremely unusual childhood, with their parents using them as props in their performance art pieces. As Annie grows up to be a successful actress and Baxter an acclaimed author, they return to their family home after Baxter is shot and in need of recuperation. When they receive a call from the police saying that their parents are missing and believed dead, the siblings disagree over whether the news is real or simply their most elaborate performance. The cast also includes Christopher Walken, Maryann Plunkett and Kathryn Hahn.

John Lloyd Young reprises his stage role as Frankie Valli, who is discovered by guitarist Tommy DeVito (Vincent Piazza), and along with bass player Nick Massi (Michael Lomenda) and keyboardist/songwriter Bob Gaudio (Erich Gergen) forms The Four Seasons. They sign a contract with producer Bob Crewe (Mike Doyle) and gradually find success but relationships within the band become strained over time. Narrated by each group member in turn, the story follows their rise to fame and eventual break-up, as well as the personal troubles they face along the way. The film features songs such as 'Rag Doll', 'Sherry', 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' and 'Who Loves You'.

Michael Cimino writes and directs this large-scale Western starring Kris Kristofferson and Christopher Walken. Set in the late 1800s in Johnson County, Wyoming, the film follows the conflict between American cattlemen and European immigrants. Harvard graduate James Averill (Kristofferson) is appointed marshal to keep the peace, but clashes with his friend, gunfighter Nate Champion (Walken), who is working for land baron Frank Canton (Sam Waterston). Champion, like Averill, is vying for the attentions of Ella Watson (Isabelle Huppert), the madam of the local brothel, which only adds to the rivalry between the two men. Soon the situation in Johnson County worsens and war breaks out with disastrous consequences. The cast also includes Joseph Cotton, Jeff Bridges, John Hurt and Mickey Rourke.

The second screen adaptation of Ira Levin's best-selling novel (the first, starring Katherine Ross, was made in 1974) is a darkly satirical comedy, in contrast to the paranoid social critique of the first version. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks star in this crime-caper by Steven Spielberg, based on the true story of Frank W. Abagnale Junior. As a teenager, Abagnale (DiCaprio) discovers he has a talent for impersonating officials, beginning with posing as a substitute teacher. Finding solace in his new gift - his mother leaves his father (Christopher Walken) after she discovers he is heavily in debt to the IRS - Abagnale goes on to impersonate airline pilots, doctors and even a lawyer, whilst also managing to con banks out of over $2 million. However, his escapades soon attract the interest of FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Hanks) who seems to be always one step behind. That is until Abagnale decides to settle down and discovers that his future father-in-law (Martin Sheen) is the D.A of New Orleans. The real Abagnale appears in a cameo and, after serving time in prison, now works as a consultant for preventing forgery and fraud.
