This volume provides a collection of state-of-the-art protocols on
plant vacuolar trafficking. Chapters guide the reader through
design and preparation of fusion proteins, expression vectors, and
detailed analysis of different microscopy techniques. Written in
the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format,
chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of
the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily
reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and
avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and cutting-edge, Plant
Vacuolar Trafficking: Methods and Protocols aims to be a highly
valuable resource for researchers interested in learning more about
this field
The collection brings together texts of Brazilian researchers who
are dedicated to themes related to studies of youth cultures:
social interactions, subcultures, identities and belonging, pop
culture, social movements, migration, consumption and
materialities, generational exchanges, media representations and
digital media, among others. The objective is to promote a broad
dialogue that includes fields of knowledge such as communication
and social sciences, as well as local perspectives that represent
the huge and rich diversity of the Brazilian regions. At the same
time, the book proposes to discuss the reflexivity of such local
youth cultures in the face of a global context that challenges,
with ruptures and permanencies, the very idea of youth. The book
seeks to fill the gap of a selection of scientific texts by
Brazilian authors, about Brazilian youth cultures, aimed at foreign
researchers.
This open access book offers a comparative overview on Portuguese
emigration in Europe and outside the EU in times of recession. It
looks at Portuguese emigrants who, after the crisis of 2008, moved
both intra-EU, such as UK, France, Switzerland, Germany and Spain,
but also into countries with historical links, such as the USA and
Canada, and to Portuguese speaking countries such as Brazil, Angola
and Mozambique, as well as the processes of return. In addition to
the dynamics of movement, the book provides an in-depth analysis of
the heterogeneity of this emigration. It deepens the multifaceted
identities concerning social and professional pathways among highly
skilled and less skilled emigrants. The labour market continues to
be the main regulatory force of Portuguese emigration, which helps
to explain the outflow and the processes of settlement and return.
Nonetheless, this book demonstrates that non-economic factors have
likewise been of great importance in the decision to emigrate. As
such this book will be a valuable read to policy makers, students
and scholars in migration.
