Leon Battista Alberti (1404-1472) est un c l bre humaniste. La perspective d velopp e dans le De Statua en fait un texte pr curseur de l'image num rique moderne. Claudius Popelin (1825-1892) fut le pr facier et le traducteur du plusieurs trait s sur les arts anciens dont les trois libvres de l'art du potier de Cyprian Piccolpassi, texte bien connu des alchimistes. Il est enfin le traducteur du Songe de Poliphile texte aux origines de la Renaissance.
