In our own beautiful planet there is so much of maiming by accident, reckless living, physical and moral miasmatic poisoning, that it was most wise and conservative to give this vital trust to two. Manhood and womanhood scientifically mean adequate fitness to found the kingdom of home and fulfil its designed benefactions. This all-wise plan, if intelligently and fully seconded by both parents, should ensure to every child a gift of life superior to that of either father or mother; but for this, the decadence of men, of families and of people would be certain and rapid.
